The Wiener Standard, since 1962.

Since ‘62, this Oaklawn Ave counter has been the argument-settler for Rhode Island hot weiners. Small snappy dogs, steamed buns, homemade meat sauce that people have been trying to reverse-engineer for six decades. The place changed hands a few years back and the new owners didn’t touch a single recipe — the most Rhode Island thing that could’ve possibly happened. Sign’s back up and lit. Celery salt still hits.

The order: three all the way (meat sauce, mustard, onion, celery salt), fries, and a coffee milk because you’re a guest here and you should act like it.

Sixty-plus years and nobody’s asked them to change a thing. 🌭

Local buddies saved this RI staple Weiner spot from closing, and we’re glad they did!
.
Last year @weinorama closes after 62 years as a beloved community eatery. But two friends came together and saved the day. Chris Tasca and Eric Beaune grew up frequenting this spot, and couldn’t let the story stop there.

Of course, Weiners are the star of the show. Get em Rhode Island style— mustard, beef sauce, onions, and celery salt. But there’s more to love here than just weenies.

Grab a homestyle breakfast or lunch, just the way you like it. Stacked club sandwiches, buttery pancakes, and my favorite, the pastrami melt on an everything bagel. These local comfort foods just can’t be beat.

Hot wieners are a Rhode Island staple - not to be confused with hot dogs. Every place has their own history and loyal customers, but everyone agrees wieners should be ordered “all the way,” with mustard, meat sauce, onions and celery salt. Link to the full video in my bio. A little over a year ago, we took a leap of faith and reopened a Rhode Island institution.

For 64 years, Wein-O-Rama has been serving its famous hot weiners, breakfast, and diner classics that generations have grown up loving. To now celebrate our first year as its new owners and to be named Best of RI’s Best Diner - West Bay, is something we’re incredibly proud of.

This past year has been about so much more than serving great food. It has been about preserving a local tradition, honoring the history of Wein-O-Rama, and making sure this special place continues to be part of our community for generations to come.

To everyone who has walked through our doors, grabbed a coffee milk at the counter, ordered weiners “all the way” or “your way,” brought your families, shared a meal with friends, or simply cheered us on, thank you. Your support, loyalty, and belief in us have meant everything.

A special thank you goes to our incredible staff. Your hard work, dedication, and care are the heart of Wein-O-Rama. This award belongs to every one of you.

We’re honored to be part of this community and grateful for the opportunity to carry on a 64-year legacy. Here’s to preserving tradition, creating new memories, and many more years of serving Rhode Island’s favorite hot weiners.
