POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Lil life update: spring break is here, I packed a suitcase full of books, and despite the time off, I still have absolutely zero chill. I am who I am 😏

I just posted my review of The Wilderness, so go read it if you want my complicated feelings about a book that I was so happy to finally get to! If you have already have done that, then may I present: my full March debrief, because a lot happened (or at least given what I’m always juggling 🤦‍♀️)

What I finished:
🌊Wild Dark Shore wrecked me in the best way. Three days. Done. A lot of people told me it would pull me out of my slump and they were embarrassingly right (full review coming when I’m back)

🏔️Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead was genuinely beautiful in its prose and dragged just enough in the plot that I felt every page given my current bandwidth. I think I needed more brain than I had. I’m excited to revisit it someday.

🏨 The Shining (not pictured) because I have no self control. I decided to dig in on NYC’s second snow day thinking it would be so long it would put me to sleep. WRONG! I loved every terrifying second of it and I have no regrets except that I was reading a haunted hotel book during a blizzard. But my first King? A huge success!!!

🧬The Double Helix is done and I never have to read it again for grad school, which is a sentence that deserves its own confetti. One more full book left, “The Republican War on Science,” and then I am coasting until my summer courses.

What’s happening in April:
The Martian has been my plane book and it feels spiritually correct. James is up for book club. Demon Copperhead is waiting and I am scared of how much I’m going to love it. And... 🥁 roll, I FOUND THE SAFEKEEP and Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and snagged both for $7?!?!?!?!? Yeah, huge win during my weekend in Brooklyn last week. These alone are making me very happy just to own.

Can I read all of these in April while finishing grad school? Time will tell. Follow along if you want to find out. I plan to update more frequently 😄

What was the first book you couldn’t wait to pick up this spring? Drop it below so I can add it to next year’s list👇

🩸🍒 Horror for the Girlies 🍒🩸

I really leaned into my horror era in the last half of 2025 and I can’t say I’m too mad about that. My female rage had to go somewhere and these horror reads helped me release that productively. 😇

Here are my favorites. Thanks to @libraryof.sam for tagging me. I tagged a few friends too but no pressure to play along. I know a lot of you have done this already! Special thanks to @kieras.reads for creating this book tag! 🖤

🪩 Would love to hear your 2026 horror tbr’s! 🪩
