⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️

The most heated episode of @theheircastpod yet with @weirdnesss and @daniel_brittenham_dadannyboy 😳 in this clip we discuss our rights as humans and how the government is trying to remove as many rights as possible for woman. I also clearly don’t know how gender reassignment surgery works 🤦‍♂️

((Part 1 of 2))

The amount of times I’ve tried to write this! 🥵 WHEW!!!

I’ve spent years in some of Miami’s golden venues like Oxygen, Visions (argue with someone else), Space (before the gang members left), Mansion, Fats, Blackbird (before it got bougie), Sidebar (I still miss u) & the one that hurt my heart the most, till this moment was Purdy (it was a wrap when u couldn’t smoke inside).

We’ve lost a lot of places that played a role in who we were becoming. There’s a certain something that happens when u become a regular somewhere. Our personal lives became intertwined depending how long that spot was THEE spot. However, I never knew that my last night was going to be my last night at any of these places. I had never been a regular at any of these places as long as I was with Wood. And I never attended the final moment of any of them.

Wood was the closest to the bar from Cheers that we had. I don’t even drink & it was a whole mf VIBE!!! You could come as you were, EVERYONE was welcomed at Wood. I’ve had some magical ass moments at Wood. Met people that are still in my life all these years later. I’ve gotten closure from running into scum bags from the past, first dates, last dates, ghosting, networking, business meetings, out of towners, fights, solo dancers, group dancers, loners, squads, ALL our ex’s (🥵 never failed), crying in the bathroom, heart aches, healing... LIFE.

A WHOLE LOT OF LIFE HAPPENED AT WOOD!

Wood was our meeting spot, our welcome back to the streets spot, our first stop after hadn’t been in town for mad long, first spot after losing a loved one, getting out of hospitals, mini therapy sessions, facing fears of running into certain people, birthdays, holidays, making apologies & a place that just called u out to be who tf u really are. Wood has all the receipts lol! 🙃

LOOK AT GOD!!!😭🙏🏽😍

I’ve dreamed of being seen, me, as I am, no boxes, no limits, the freedom to exist on a team that allowed ALL OF ME to sit at the table. No filtering, no dimming, no shame dictating what I was allowed to share or not, a true spiritual nudity that flowed through the safety as we laid the bricks of the home being built. The home to shelter so much that has gone dismissed, rejected, downplayed, put on layaway, taken advantage of and taken for granted.

God and our ancestors been baking us each separately for a long time and they said biiiiih it’s time to come out the oven. You’re ready.

I looked around the table last night in awe of the magic that God had in store for me. I didn’t know what I didn’t know, but hearing the conversations taking place let me know that I wasn’t supposed to know,
I was just supposed to show up and do my work. Heal my shit. Be scared af but do shit anyways. There’s something to be said about the genius in God not putting us on before we’re ready. I feel like it would have changed the way I move, so keeping me in the dark from what was to come allowed me to focus on the work that had to/has to be done on who I am/was presently.

Whatever is to come, last night, I sat, learned, listened and participated into a space of deep soulful, soul filled gratitude that I needed and had been craving.

Faith batteries charged bruh. LEGGGGOOO!!! 🔮🤲🏾💛

#weirdnesssrants :
Why the title of “Public Figure?”
A lot of these titles have become devalued by the enmeshment of popularity. Some of us have been doing work in our communities long before social media dictatorship arrived. I have been recognized by my work, publicly, prior to any “cyber” followers arrived. It’s important to understand the difference in people who have been doing the work before the labels arrived and would continue on even if these platforms were eradicated. A public figures heart, I believe is from birth or being born into oppressive situations that ignite a passion for social justice, either way it started long before being fueled by heavy apps saturating the brain waves. There are those who joined movements because the algorithms told them to but you gotta learn to respect those who been bout it and got receipts in their city. We are not the same. What drives me is an ancestral calling not a shout out or algorithm. Know the difference. I lose followers EVERYDAY. And Ima still do what I was called to do.... know that.🧿✊🏾🔮 .
