A family visit to the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation in our neighborhood. If you live in Los Angeles and you want a very special experience look them up - you can book a free tour… They host small groups and will take you through the house which has a spectacular collection inside (that you cannot photograph) and wonderful sculptures outside (that you can photograph). It’s sort of wall-to-wall of the best artwork of the past hundred years - curated in an eclectic mix in each room throughout the house and has been left untouched since Mr Weisman died years ago. A hidden gem of LA ✨ @weismanartfoundation #frederickrweismanartfoundation #botero #rothko #giacometti #picasso #warhol #donaldjudd #belair #privatehome

Had an awesome visit to the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation with my family this morning-what an incredible place with an even more incredible collection. Sam Francis, Hockney, Rothko, Bacon, Warhol, Haring, Magritte, and so many more fill this amazing 12,000 sq. ft Holmby Hills mansion that was once home to the CEO of Hunt Foods, Frederick R. Weisman. He preferred art to be shared and seen in a comfortable living/home setting instead of at a museum. What a treat this was, to see all of this amazing art in such a gorgeous location. Highly recommend a (free!) visit when you get a chance!

"I don't think there is anything that communicates better than art. It is quicker than language and clearer than philosophy.” - Frederick Weisman

What does this installation communicate to you? From left to right, the artists are Jim Dine, Francis Bacon, Roy Lichtenstein and Sandro Chia.

A beautiful Botero Torso standing next to a Henry Moore sculpture. Both are great artists with many things in common. This photo was taken at the Frederick R. Weisman Foundation in Los Angeles.
