Cheers to 8 years of POETRY! 👑🖤🏁

8 years ago I stopped treating poetry like a hidden gift and started walking in it like purpose. Since then, the words have carried me into rooms I once only dreamed about, connected me to souls across cities and stages, and reminded me that art can heal, challenge, and inspire all at once.

I’m grateful for every mic, every lesson, every loss, every breakthrough, and every person who listened when I spoke! Still humble. Still learning. Still becoming.

Here’s to 8 years of truth, passion, resilience, and poetry. Thank you for growing this POETREE with me!

Losing and Hustle Hill don’t go together, so when the post was made we locked in. Ready to run the relay. All in good fun.

Competing is still some of the most fun things you can do as an adult and happy we did it and we can run it back whenever. I know the second relay had a slightly controversial ending. But we can run it back whenever!!

We love to compete(win)!!!

I am the Dallas Poet Laureate!

Words could not express what I am feeling at this moment. All of my hard work over the years have been building towards leading my city and creating a legacy. This is the biggest moment of my career thus far! I am so grateful to my Lord and Savior for having his hands on me. Special thank you @dallasculture @deepvellum @dallascityhall for trusting me with this mantle as we move forward into the future!

We are about to put poetry in a new stratosphere, and I need the city behind me! None of this will be possible without all of the amazing support and love I receive. Let’s find a way to take poetry to a new level.
