Bathhouses are opening across the U.S. faster than ever and most of the traditions they draw on were built by immigrant communities. Writers, filmmakers, designers, and scholars who are immigrants or children of immigrants will share personal stories of the banya, the jjimjibang, the hammam and more. RSVP with the link in bio!

Subbing for the lovely Yogi Kate at the Wende Museum today! 🧘🏽‍♀️🌿

If you don’t know the @wendemuseum, it’s a Culver City gem dedicated to preserving Cold War-era art, history, and culture. But it’s also a beautiful community space that brings people together through art, movement, and connection.

And did I mention they offer FREE community yoga?! Say less. 🙌🏽

The walk in alone is a whole vibe. Native plants, gorgeous landscaping, fountains, and a little moment of calm before we even hit the mat.

Makes the sacred schlep that much sweeter. 🤭✨

Art + nature + yoga + community. Yes, please.

Dora Pejačević’s“Venedig” from COSMOS, performed by @yekaterina_music and @alextchaykov. This night portrait captures the musical vibration of Venice’s waters and the traveler’s soul as they experience modulating swells of inspiration.

One thing I've learned in this lifetime,
It's always been about the journey,
The destination will always come,
As every journey must come to a close,
To make way for an even greater one.
✨️
This journey with my fellow Pasifika community @i.ly3000 @nikiokuk @happaenby @napbak2reality @soultreesmusic @og_ova Misa & Kathy, facilitated by @teadaproductions and hosted by @wendemuseum is truly a journey for the soul, for us by us. Thank you for gracing us with your love work and the generosity to create space for each other! Special thanks to all my people who made an effort to attend and show out. Your love and support was deeply felt and I'm so glad you were there to witness the soul work that made this working masterpiece.

Please enjoy our journey, but please, just take what you need, nothing more and nothing less.
📸 1) Telling the story of the evolution and journey of my given name, "Mana." Going into high school, as a working Polynesian Dancer, I was given the name, "Mana," by my Polynesian Dance School in Saipan, Tekana'hau Nui. Upon receiving this gift, "Mana" has certainly evolved with me throughout all of my journies.
📸 2 - 6) PIEAM @pieam_arts We take a trip to the museum to gather inspiration for our ensemble piece. Our objective was to find one object that spoke to us. My one object was of this picture, captured by an Army photographer during WWII, of a store that immediately reminded me of my dad's store where friends and family would gather together just as what seemed to be happening in the picture. This inspiration sparked the foundation for our main ensemble piece.
📸 7 - 10) Rehearsal Magic! Our talents and harmonies collaboratively coming together!
📸 11) We create our very first promo video for our culmination performance!
📸 12 - 16) Dress Rehearsal at the Wende Museum
📸 17 - 20) Showtime! We lay our hearts onto the stage, welcome our ancestors and invite you into our collective journey!
