Join us for the Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls' Mid-Term Planning Meeting, on October 27, 7pm, at 3338 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette. RSVP to let us know you are coming by emailing cccwomenscommission@gmail.com.

With a full leadership team, motivated new appointments, and a few vacancies left, we are ready to focus on what we do best - be in community so unmet needs, emerging challenges, and timely issues are shared with our Board of Supervisors.

There are still 2 vacant seats on the Commission and we encourage you to consider applying. There is no comm_nity without 'u'!

Repost 📣 @chdc.bayarea

36 years ago, CHDC set out to be a change agent for North Richmond, a neighborhood filled with blight and debris, left without federal and state investment, and in need of hope.

Today? Look around! North Richmond is vibrant. North Richmond is growing. And on Saturday, October 17, we’re taking the next BIG step: breaking ground on Heritage Point Grocery Store, bringing fresh food to the neighborhood and putting an end to a food desert this community has lived with for far too long!

Come celebrate 36 years with us! next to the CHDC office
Groundbreaking ceremony, music, food, a Kids Zone, our Community Memory Wall, and a Building Communities Passport adventure that earns you food from our vendors while supplies last.

Bring your family. Bring your neighbors. Bring your joy.

Today, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the West County Wastewater Green and Clean project. A $83 million project to install the latest and greatest water technology to not only use less energy but generate energy, reduce gas emissions, and save millions of dollars in operations.

Congrats to everyone involved for putting North Richmond on the map for its waste water facility 💧

Today I had the honor of presenting a $1 million dollar check from the State of California to Urban Tilth.

This is an investment in Urban Tilth’s work providing food access, job creation for North Richmond, emergency preparedness, and environmental resilience.

I’m incredibly thankful for the work Urban Tilth does and the partnership of other elected leaders like Supervisor John Gioia and Congress Member John Garamendi.

We want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to @senatorarreguin and the State of California for their $1M investment for our North Richmond Farm - a 14 year community vision.

This investment will help expand food access, create opportunities for residents to work and build skills, strengthen emergency preparedness and environmental resilience, and provide more space for community services and gatherings. Wow!

Thank you to all who were involved in making this moment happen from @westcccountygioia who saw the vision and possibility early in our journey, Resident Leaders, our dedicated staff, and our amazing North Richmond residents and supporters. We could not have done this without you!

We showed up for North Richmond 💛🏠

160+ sign-ins. A dozen+ resource tables covering financial readiness, homebuyer prep, and community resources. A 3-on-3 tournament that had youth AND adults competing. Free food from Chef Ronnie. Music from DJ Gary that kept the whole block moving.

But more than the numbers, we got to celebrate the local leaders making this work real, and we got to be in community together, honoring the history of Las Deltas while building toward what’s next.

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Mechanics Bank, for supporting this work and helping make the day possible. And thank you to County Supervisor John Gioia for showing up for North Richmond and standing with our community.

Buy Back The Jets isn’t just an event. It’s a mission. And we’re just getting started.

Today, we celebrated the grand opening of the Civic Center Apartments, bringing 49 new permanent supportive and affordable homes to Richmond.

This project transformed a former Motel 6 into housing with onsite wraparound services, including case management, mental health and substance use support, health care connections, benefits assistance, education, employment services, and more.

More than $25.8 million in state, county, and City funding helped make this possible. I’m grateful to our City staff and partners who worked together to turn this project into something tangible for Richmond.

More housing, more stability, and more support for our community. #richmondca
