Another year has passed since we lost Dad in August 2020, and once again we're coming together to honour his memory at the Michael Troy Memorial Run.

Set in the beautiful village of Carrigaholt, Co. Clare, the event features both a timed 10km race and a 4.5km fun run/walk along some of West Clare's most scenic country roads, starting and finishing in the village.

Whether you're chasing a new 10km PB, taking on your first run, or simply enjoying a walk with family and friends, we'd love to see you there.

Everyone is welcome.

Most importantly, every euro raised will go to the West Clare Cancer Centre, helping them continue the incredible support they provide to people and families across the region.

It promises to be a fantastic day in Carrigaholt, so dust off the runners, spread the word, and come along to support a great cause.

📅 Saturday 15th August
🕔 5:00 PM
📍 Carrigaholt, Co. Clare

📝 Registration on the day: 3:30–4:30 PM

Please share this post to help us reach as many people as possible.

As the St Patrick’s Day period comes to a close, the Irish Blood Transfusion Service is reminding people in Clare of the importance of maintaining steady blood supplies for hospitals, including rebuilding stocks following the busy bank holiday period.

A blood donation clinic will take place at Kilrush Community School on Wednesday and Thursday evening, and both regular donors and those who may be considering donating for the first time are welcome to attend.

This week also sees Daffodil Day taking place on Friday, a time when many people reflect on the impact of cancer in their own families and communities. Blood donation plays an ongoing role in patient care, with a 65% of donated blood used to support cancer patients and those with blood disorders.

Clinics like this one in Kilrush help ensure that hospitals continue to have the supplies they need over the coming weeks. People who may not have donated in some time are encouraged to consider attending, and former UK residents are now also eligible to give blood.

Clinic Details:
Kilrush Community School
Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th March
5:00pm – 8:20pm

Appointments can be made by calling 1800 222 111, and new donors are welcome.

Those who are unable to donate can still support the effort by encouraging others in their family or community to take part."

The Naomh Mhuire u14s travelled to Monaleen today to play in the Georgie Fitzpatrick Memorial Tournament. The tournament was played in the memory of one of the founders and driving forces in ladies football in Monaleen.

After two hard fought games the Naomh Mhuire girls qualified to play West Clare Gaels. The game finished level and after a long day and with weather worsening, both sides decided to share the cup. The girls played exceptional all day and enjoyed well deserved pizza on the route home at @jillyandjoes_

Thanks to @monaleenlgfa @monaleengaaclub for the superb hospitality.
