The International Council of Coaching Excellence is promoting 25th September 2021 as a day to say ‘#thankscoach to sports coaches so today we want to acknowledge the amazing people who volunteer their time to coach in our club.
Week after week they turn up with car-boots loaded down with footballs, equipment & jerseys and give selfishly of their time, knowledge & skills.

Amateur sports would not exist without great coaches. Some underprivileged kids would not get the chance to excel & shine only for the coach who wanted them to have the same chances as every other kid. That troublesome kid- it’s the coaches who can see the good in them and can draw it out so she/he becomes a valued member of the club and society. It’s the coach who often notices something isn’t right with their players & offers a listening ear or practical support. It’s the coach who encourages you back into the club when life is getting you down, knowing that the club is family and will always be there for you.

It’s the coaches who are their teams biggest cheerleaders when winning and the strongest shoulder to cry on when there are losses, the ones who cajole, plead, shout out & simply bring out the best in everyone of the players under their care.

Thanks to all our coaches for all you do. We appreciate you so much.

“A good coach can change a game, a great coach can change a life”- John Wooden.

Please share & use #thankscoach on your social media to thank your coach today.
