What’s gramps VO2Max 🤯??

I put myself through a maximal ramp test on @gozwift and @elite_cycling RIVO to find my lab tested vo2max at altitude…

The snow has just arrived in the Rocky Mountains and as a runner who uses his bike a lot (read: 15+ hours per week) I was delighted to get the support of an indoor trainer with Zwift. Winter bike training is saved 🫡

Big thanks to @ruben_apers for the @gozwift @elite_cycling link 🔗

Here are the top-five men’s and women’s teams from the 2026 NCAA DII Pre-Nationals Invitational!

D2 Pre-Nationals are Sunday at Rim Rock Farm, the course that hosts nationals on December 4. Nineteen programs, and here's what we expect.

Women's 6K (10:15 a.m. CT): we're predicting a three-team fight. Our call is Colorado Mines 66, Western Colorado 71, UCCS 81. None of Mines' ten entered women has raced this season, so if we're wrong, it's probably here. Emily LaMena is our pick by 28 seconds.

Men's 8K (9:30 a.m. CT): Western Colorado has three in our top nine, but we have Ricardo Vargas (Cal Poly Pomona) five seconds ahead of Tyler Nord, the closest call in either race. The wild card is Washburn: fourth in our team call on one race, which they won, and three of their top six that day are freshmen we can't rate yet.

Rim Rock rates 2.6% slower than an average course: about 37 seconds for Vargas, 32 for LaMena. Sunday's forecast: dry, low 70s for the men and mid 70s for the women.

Both races, runner by runner: kailo.fit/rankings → Meets

We'll grade ourselves after the gun.
