Client: I’m a baker and want to start creating more serious content on social media and I want my website to look more professional. Me: girl, say less! How about I sit you on top of a 6 foot giant cake?😂😂😂 But no, in all seriousness, every single client that reaches out to me is different in their own unique way. I have worked with med spa owners, social media strategists, lash professionals, spray, tanning professionals, salon owners, hairstylist, the list goes on and on. I can now add Baker to my list of different brands and companies that I’ve worked with. I will never have you just show up quickly for a shoot and we click click click and then get you out the door. No! This is exactly why I do a discovery phone call as my very first touch point with a client and then after that, I do my Zoom planning call. That’s where we pick out the theme, themes, colors, wardrobe, props, all the small details that you normally wouldn’t think about. This is why me and my clients are able to feel so confident and at ease during a shoot. Because the heavy lifting when it comes to planning is already done. The shoot is just the fun part! Photographers, do you ever feel nervous to capture your own behind the scenes footage during a shoot? I had someone ask me on TikTok to make a short video about how I get behind the scenes content for my videos that I post. And at first, I was so surprised by this question. Getting behind the scenes content comes so naturally to me I guess because I’ve been doing it for so long. But I do remember a time when I would just take the photos and I didn’t have any videos. I guess when I saw reels start to blow up that’s when I was like OK I need to start videoing the stuff behind the scenes. I feel completely comfortable asking my clients if they mind if I take behind-the-scenes content and also just filming it and moving my tripod around. But I never realized that maybe some people struggle with that and feel nervous. But I just want to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and do the things that you need to do for your business. Capturing behind the scenes content is so important for your brand. And honestly, your clients most likely found you through some content that they found online. So clients never mind when you ask them if you can take behind the scenes content. Actually, I have found that most people enjoy it and love to be able to see the videos after the shoot as well as the photography that I capture. So really it’s a win-win. Your client gets to see some live action videos from their shoot along with their photography and you get beautiful behind the scenes content to post for your social media website. Save this for your next shoot to remember to capture that content! photography, education, beginner photography, studio, photography, tutorial, studio, photography, how to, how to do a photo shoot. This is part two of the videos I made from this branding session I did with @westrivercakes Yesterday I posted the set up of the giant cake I made. And today it’s all about finishing the decorations of the cake and doing the shoot. So enjoy and follow along. As I was making this video, I realized how much we were all giggling and laughing. Just got off and ordering a Zoom call with @westrivercakes . Yeah, when I tell you, we pulled out all the stops for this shoot. I’m not lying. Lol. Even including a 6 foot life-size cake.😂😂😂 I told Olivia “ listen, don’t give me creative freedom or you’re gonna end up sitting on a 6 foot cake!” Welp, look where we ended up ha ha. One thing about me, I will take your branding photography session so serious. If you’re ready for scroll stopping, unique, and different photography than you’ve ever seen before than you found your girl. DM me to schedule a free and super quick discovery call to chat about ideas and brainstorm something really incredible for your brand!
