our 4th annual B&N bookfair has been one for the books! 📚 i spent all day, spreading awareness about stuttering & advocating for my chapter, at my local barnes & noble (@bnexton) ✨ it was such a great time - thank you to everyone who supported me from strangers, store employees, & my loved ones! 💜 you can support @nsa.sepa & @westutter until tomorrow at your local B&N store with our unique code: 12978847! this fundraiser takes place every year in honor of international stuttering awareness day on October 22nd. i am proud of myself as a chapter leader for creating this tradition, even if it means putting myself out there as a PWS! i’ve been making people aware of stuttering since i started my chapter in 2023, & i can’t wait to keep annoying people about it forever 🥹 #bnbookfairs

Meet Adelaide, a senior in high school from Canada and an active member of Sisters Who Stutter! She shares how much Sisters Who Stutter has impacted her stuttering journey, especially as a young woman. The meetings have fueled her sense of belonging and allowed her to realize that she is not alone! Our next meeting is November 1st at 8:30 PM EST. In honor of our #ISAD2026 bookfair happening later this month, we will be featuring our final Stuttering Book of the Week 📚🤩 Our third featured book is “Jayson Goes For It!” by Brayden Harrington and David Ritz. When Brayden was 13 years old, he received national attention as a person who stutters after delivering a speech at the Democratic National Convention urging people to vote for Joe Biden 🫶 🏀 Eighth-grader Jayson thrives on the basketball court with his friends, brushing off classmates who tease him for his stutter. But when his best friend Gloria is barred from the debate team because of her speech, Jayson realizes he must take a stand. This middle-grade debut explores the courage it takes to advocate for what is right, showing that any voice can make a difference.
