At Farringford House in Freshwater, Ellen Penstone-Smith has led the restoration of the walled garden since 2017, transforming a space that had been significantly altered during its time as a holiday park. Drawing directly on historical research, connected to Alfred Lord Tennyson, she has recreated a garden that reflects the character of the Victorian period almost identical to how Tennyson would have had it. What makes the result so striking is the sense of richness and atmosphere now present. It's really, simply magical. Carefully planned planting and a layout that feels both structured and 'chaotic' - as was the style then. Alongside this, sustainable methods such as peat-free compost and wildlife-friendly practices ensure the garden supports biodiversity. The result is not only historically informed but genuinely captivating, a garden full of life, depth and quiet beauty and one that is undoubtedly well worth a visit for anyone to the island. 📸 @tennysons_gardener

Our first mini interview with @bazza12razza (Barry)

He’s pretty much our skatepark mascot!
He’s a super polite and respectful lad when he’s here at canopy but probably struggles to hold it together as well in school and home

Barry does park vacuuming every week as payment for sessions and has been doing bits of instructing with some of the younger or inexperienced skaters and is part of the @clown_skateboards #clowninaction campaign to help to mentor and pass the torch which helps to enrich the future skate scene

Barry’s skate dream is to meet @tonyhawk and @sampilgrim and we’d love to have them both to stay and skate with us all too

Come get booked in for a session and you might meet Barry 🤘🏻🤘🏻

One of the coolest ridgelines on the Isle of Wight ?? 👀

We spent the day wishing we had better facilities for kids on the island (no indoors bike parks 🤣).....

Then the rain finally stopped and we rushed out the door for a quick lap of our favourite area of the island before we lost the light 🌄

As we came up and over the crest of the hill, we knew we had timed it perfectly with an awesome sunset descent down Headon Warren with the Needles in the background 🙌

We then played around decending some of the steep loose paths and raced home as we forgot our lights 😬
