Driving Maui’s Hwy 30 should qualify as an extreme sport. Narrow roads, cliff edges, one-lane bridges… and somehow you’re also supposed to admire the ocean views without driving into a chicken.

But honestly? Some of the best spots on the island are tucked along this road. Tide pools, hidden beaches, banana bread stands, random pullouts with unreal views… every turn feels like a postcard.

Only downside now: a lot of the once “secret” stops come with parking fees. Still worth it… but definitely different from the old Maui road trip days.

Back in January, I went on a sunset whale watching dinner cruise with the @pacwhaleecoadventures and it honestly felt a little unreal. The food was great, the coconut mai tais were dangerously good, and the whales? They put on a nonstop show. I barely stayed in my seat because I was too busy trying to capture every moment.

Such an unforgettable night—I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Have you ever been on a whale watching tour? 🐋
