Upcoming group show ‘After The Tide’, curated by @babyrollz and @___nouman, presented by @ladesignweekend.

This body of work is a collection of glimmers in the sand. Each piece takes on courageous exploration by bending material, form, and creative languages against the forces of nature. They reveal the gentle memory of what was, and the persistence of vision. The artwork is crafted through friction and ever changing conditions.

Some film photos and close ups of the artwork in Tékhnē.

I opted to document the whole exhibition on film, leaning in every way into the concept of process; from the invitations made of carved Linoblock prints on artisan mango paper, to the final documentation on film; it was important to me the essence of this show carried in the integrity of the work from beginning to end. Thanks to @wheeler_cb for inspiring my new interest in using film to document sculptures + exhibitions, all I needed was a good excuse to shoot more often.

You can find the link to purchase the exhibition hardcover booklet in my bio. With a full color spread of artists statements, film photos, Panama Pottery’s history, the press articles of the pottery and special curatorial notes, each copy covers printing costs and supports the next exhibition.

The response to this exhibition has been overwhelming, tremendous, and wonderful. Thank you to every enthusiast, collector, writer, artist, musician, and creative who made this possible; it’s the ecosystem between us that makes exhibitions like this magical. Thank you for being witness to my second curatorial, it was one for the books💫

It was sentimental and intimate, taking these photos myself. I wandered the factory floor many times looking for all the cherished moments- so impossible to translate real life in just a few snapshots, but there’s a lot of fun in trying.

America at 350? My dream is that through more exhibitions like this one produced by @thinkspace_art and @breagallery we are creating a better future. Through work that critiques, celebrates, and analyzes our histories, present, and futures, we build community and foster resilience.

Thank you to LC, Andrew, and the team at Brea Gallery for providing this space for reflection. 𝑨 𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆: 𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂 𝒂𝒕 350 Is on view through September 6th.

Joy as resistance dump 2💖✨💐🍇🎨🧩🎞️📸💽
More from the opening reception, a beautiful night of celebrating community and reminding us that our existence is resistance. I've realized over the years that if I feel something is missing in my world, there is no reason for me not to create it myself. This is just the beginning of my curitorial journey and as someone who loves hosting and has over a decade of experience in hospitality, I'm excited to see how I will bring both of my worlds together. I am so grateful to everyone who showed up to the opening and to all the amazing artists that decided to share this space with us. I look forward to working with you all in the future 🤍
There is one last chance to see the show TOMORROW!
6-9pm
Come meet the artists and get to know their individual process and experience 🎨🖼️🖌️
Thank you @demo.spot ✨
