📍 Prime Seafood Palace! #41 on Canadas 100 best restaurant list.

When you think steakhouse, I imagine most people think old world, white linen table cloths, dark rooms, labelled plates, perhaps a bottle of something red. Or maybe an over saturated chain restaurant. What I don’t imagine they think about is a tasting menu, and a damn good one at that.

Prime seafood palace then has somehow managed to bring the steakhouse into the modern world in a way many wouldn’t expect. Do you want a quality piece of beef? How about with black truffle and chanterelles? (8.8/10) and how about served in one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever stepped foot in? because if that’s what your after they will sort you out. However what I find extremely interesting is that they can execute both the old world steakhouse feel (see the plates) and also focus so much on the farm to table aspect in a tasting menu format, a duo of tartare topped with veg from blue goose farm, (8.6/10) a gorgeous scallop with yet more of the freshest produce and a rich béarnaise sauce (9.0/10) palace bacon in the style of Char Siu (8.8/10), Polenta bread with 3 different styles of butter! What you do find here then is not just one of the best steakhouse experiences in Toronto brought modern but also one of the current better tasting menu experiences.

Congrats to Coulson and the entire team, truly an exceptional meal and experience I highly recommend it to anyone (try the tasting menu).
