A belated tribute to a wonderful song, written by @whereisdean_, criminally overlooked by triple j, then and now. This was prompted by a chat with @justace90s and his recent episode on Universal and Mushroom.

A new album of music is complete thanks to this talented crew of musicians (along with a ragtag of others). It was recorded at Studio X by Mark Axiak in the village of Birkirkara, Malta. Χριστὸς ἀνέστη my lovelies.

About a month ago on a Saturday morning I woke up on the floor flat on my stomach. I had sat down in a patch of sun for a moment and then a few hours later I awoke with crinkles on my face from the floorboards. When I looked up, I saw Nick hanging from the side of the couch, as though he hadn’t quite made it before he fell into a deep sleep as well. Leg strewn as though still running, glasses crooked across his face.

It’s been a busy year and I am just about unpavked.

Looking at old photos - these ones over fifteen years ago?! A favourite - of the incredibly talented artists, Dean Manning and Justine Varga.

First pic is on film on the Hasselblad, the second digital. I used to love taking a quiet portrait on film, with just a slither of window light. I loved the painterly softness of skin tones and muted colours. I think the second might have been lit - in this one I really love the curl of his toes and the fall of her wrist.

Besties! It’s been absolutely ages since we had a Recovery moment, hasn’t it?! 🩷🖤 Let’s remedy that right now with a LEGENDARY Leonardo’s Bride performance. This is their magical banger 1997 hit, Even When I’m Sleeping. 📺📼

Historical notes 📝 Leonardo’s Bride was Australian musical legends Abby Dobson, Dean Manning, Jon Howell and Patrick Wong. This song was released in April 1997 and got to number 4 on the ARIA chart. 📈 Certified banger!

Dean Manning is a musician turned author. His book is great, and so is he. Read the article and read his book ‘Mr Blank’. A true gem!” By @whereisdean_
