Our first guests to experience a different way of tourism. What if tourism wasn't about people coming to see a place, but about people coming to meet one another? Together with our partner, Akiiki, we are exploring a model of tourism inspired by Nonviolent Communication where every encounter becomes an opportunity for mutual learning. Our guests learn from the wisdom, culture, stories, and way of life of the local community. At the same time, the community learns from the experiences, perspectives, and cultures our guests bring with them. This is not a one-way exchange. It is a relationship built on curiosity, respect, empathy, and shared humanity. We believe that when everyone is seen as a valued partner, not just a customer or a service provider, tourism becomes something much deeper. It becomes a space where everyone gives, everyone receives, and everyone grows. We're grateful to welcome our first guests on this journey of connection and co-learning. A different way of tourism begins with a different way of seeing each other. #TheKraalKaramoja #KraalToursAndTravelKaramoja #TravelWithPurpose #CommunityTourism #NonviolentCommunication Karamoja Uganda CulturalExchange

… a/New multimedia gallery installation is on for one more month @artswhistler … add your own haiku … exhibit description: Two performers. Two women. Two dresses. Two streaks of white paint. Two cameras. Two self-portraits, Two poems from Two countries, across One border, under One new moon for the duration of a year. a/New is a creative collaboration between Bronwyn Preece (@poetichiker) and Rosemary Candelario (@iamevesapple) that began in June 2021. Each month, at the precise moment of the new moon, they captured black-and-white self-portraits, both dressed in identical white slips, each marked by a single streak of white paint. Along with the coordinates of their locations, they sent these images to one another, inspiring haikus in response. This year-long dialogue explores themes of female representation, identity, and the relation to landscape, culminating in a refined multimedia installation blending photography, poetry, and performance into a contemplative exploration of self and place. On the New Moon of November, the exhibit was opened with a one-night interactive performance by both Preece and Candelario. Music was provided by @djfoxymoron … and visual and audio reels created by @whererusteve still infuse the gallery space … Stop by Arts Whistler over the course of the next month … 📍Lil’wat and Squamish Territory #newmoon #whistlerarts #butoh #installationart #galleryexhibition #seatoskyartist #haiku #performanceart
