Can't think of a better way to end summer than to share it with my family in a place we keep coming back to and got to enjoy it with very few people around. It's been quite a September so far! I hope you all out there relished in some of it. Season's a changing and the mornings are crisp... Bring on autumn and all the beauty and release that comes with it. Hopefully see some of you out there. taken in Down by the Water by @whererusteve

The fall colours are starting to pop in the mountains here in BC. Hit me up if you want to capture some magic. Videos, photos, livestreams... hell I'll shoot a podcast up there to give people something unique.

It's easy to lose track of what's important, but sleeping out under the stars helps you realize that all the fears, worries, and stresses of our insignificant lives really is nothing when compared to the magnificence of the universe. So kill your ego and look up, and remember that our bodies are a collection of the remnants of exploded stars, somehow injected with consciousness. taken in Garibaldi Provincial Park by @whererusteve

Much needed two days out of civilization to reset and recharge. People talk about how crowded the trails are but it's really not, you just have to take a slightly different path. It's well worth it. I even managed to get some work done and review some glacier glasses for @alpineislands, it's nice when business and pleasure can overlap. More of this! Who wants to join next time?

PS the Alpine wildflowers are just starting to bloom, now's a good sign to go out and check it out yourself. taken in Cypress Mountain by @whererusteve

This app has a habit of sucking you in, that's for sure. And wouldn't you know, its all by design.

Remember when your feed would stop because it would only show photos from your friends and people you followed? And the word "influencer" was reserved for people of merit who published a groundbreaking discovery in some paper you probably never heard of, let alone read?

I guess it's middle age but it's hard to keep up with anything cool these days. And maybe it's also middle age where I pine for the good old days, where we weren't addicted to quick hits of dopamine and we would write letters by hand and would remember our friend's phone numbers by heart.

Photos were physical objects in the material world and were regarded with the same importance as passports and other irreplaceable documents to save if your house caught on fire.

AI was science fiction and the idea of asking a computer to answer any question you gave it was only reserved for the bridge of the Enterprise, 250 years in the future. I didn't know that timeline off the top of my head, by the way, I had to ask Gemini.

But as fast as our civilization is evolving (or devolving, depending on how you look at the glass), there are still moments worth sharing, and that innate desire to reach out and connect with those you care about prods you to sign back onto an app you swore you were quitting for the nth time.

...and here I am. Sharing a nice moment from yesterday when the sky opened up and refracted a rainbow that was unabashedly dazzling.

And here you are, viewing the digital representation and reading my account of the moment. Two people, bridged by an algorithm designed to keep us engaged long enough to click on an ad, sooner or later. The last one I bought was a stupid ass posture straightener because I have had trouble with my shoulders. It took a month to get to me from overseas and was total garbage. Then I looked into the somatic reasoning behind shoulder tension and it started to make a lot more sense. So I'm working on it.

Anyway, back to dazzling rainbows since it's Pride month, after all. To all my LGBTQ friends, get out there and dazzle the fuck out of all the haters. taken in Pot of Gold by @whererusteve

I lugged a ton of camera gear to Japan thinking I could be "productive " as if on a work trip. Even though I only took a fraction of the shots that I would have if working, the shots I did get were worth it. It's a different pace when on a trip for just fun and games, and I'm glad I didn't just obsess about getting shots while shredding with pals old and new. We got in a ton of riding and shooting would have held it up. Glad to get some memories in stone, even if I spent more effort lugging than actually shooting... Here's a good slice from along the way. #snowboarding #japow #soulturns taken in Japan by @whererusteve

Here's a little bit of sunset beauty to fill your feed. What a beautiful night with the fog over Vancouver BC and Mount Baker in the distance. Two countries that are drifting apart yet bonded by geography. It's a strange time to be on the planet, I feel we do have a duty to use our ability to communicate for good. Why are we so conditioned to be fearful? Well I know why... And the answer is an uncomfortable truth about humanity. I guess it really comes down to small Dink energy. Just leave the guns and big weapons alone, guys, you don't look cool. In fact, quite the opposite. Just try to not be distracted, people. This is where we need unity more than ever. Run and disassociate with those who wish to divide. Or better yet, find a reason to get them to sign up for the resistance. Big changes are a coming! Hopefully I can use this platform for good. Until then, enjoy this beautiful moment from this evening. #notai #vancouver #sunsetvibes by @whererusteve

I took a long break from posting, because I found this platform to really steer us humans off course. But maybe we need to bust back into the matrix to eventually destroy it and create something more valuable, bringing positive light in a strange world gone dark in many ways... In one understanding that we are truly one planet, and when one suffers so does the whole. How those in power don't get it is beyond me, but I've never been in that position so I suppose I can't judge. It does have to change, though. And there is plenty of good on here, that's for sure... I just hope that some of this beauty found one morning in the Sea to Sky can give you a moment of respite amongst all the noise out there. Please reach out if you want to help turn the tide back to more humanity once again! I'm with you! Let's get together and help heal the world! We need all hands on deck! by @whererusteve
