The other-worldly winter snowy sunny splendour of the Lake District last month.

We always seek some kind of coastline or mountain peak for our anniversary trip 🗻 but this time we also GOT ENGAGED FORREALS! 11 years into this life giving partnership. After years of chivvying and peer pressure from @minabored, we finally caved. Luckily it’s also something we’re extremely excited and happy about.

I made the pilgrimage to the Tarot Garden @giardinodeitarocchi_official by @niki_de_saint_phalle in the Tuscan countryside a few weeks ago and honestly I think it was more magnificent than even I had dreamed! 🌙

The attention to detail, the textures, the colours... every single piece of ceramic was cast and installed on site working with community to bring it to life. Niki worked on it for more than two decades and didn't quite manage to complete it before she died. She raised the funds to make it by making a perfume (!!)

The feeling walking up to it and seeing a skyline of these larger than life creations and nothing else in sight was truly magical. The water features brought this reviving energy to the park, and then as the storm clouds rolled in there was this incredible transformation in the mood of these tarot sculptures as they held court.

It is a seriously dreamlike and powerful place. If you are ever in Tuscany - GO!

Planning to post more detail on @softworld.world if you want more - I took a LOT of photos 🫠

I love taking photos with my point + shoot 35mm camera. It’s an expensive hobby but I have never wanted to give it up. The experience of snapping in the moment always brings me joy, no matter how the photo comes out.

I’m determined to share more of them as I go in 2025 but to start with I am sharing a backlog of my favourite recent images, capturing some of the magic, friendship and weird things I encountered. Things I was grateful for, that spoke of human oddness and natural beauty.

Here’s part 1 - a few from Malta’s gorges and finest water parks, Glastonbury’s 4am hillside views and inspiring places where I did my best dancing, pure joy of large bouncing balls in Orbital’s set, Shoreham’s annual duck race (rubber ducks, down a river - a surprising number of friends initially thought this was gonna be with real ducks), a big sort out of brainchild things and rediscovering the happiness of long days manual labour in the sunny smell of grass and rubbish skips (all precious and reusable things kept or passed onto other crews for things to come), plus ferns unfurling in spring, exploring hidden delights in Scottish gardens and cafes.
