💛🧡 If I could live inside a sunset, I would 🧡💛

@books_by_geda challenged me to do a sunshine/yellow stack. Thank you lovely!
I apparently don't have a lot of books that fit the theme 🫥 I need to do something about that 👀

But hey, two out of four books has something to do with the sun!! So not too bad 😎

☀️ Trial of the Sun Queen by @nishajtwrites
☀️ Watch Me by @tahereh
☀️ Broken Dove by @authordanifrancis
☀️ The Forgotten Dawn by @laurablakeauthor

I really love the holographic edges on Broken Dove and Watch Me. Everything that shines has my attention 😂 And when an edge is a work of art, as the last one is.. Urgh I could just stare at it forever!

The last two books are btw from @bookinaboxeu 🫶🏻✨️

I really adore sunsets 🌅 My camera roll is actually full of them, from all over the world. I always stop whatever I'm doing when I see one. I take a deep breath, soak it all in, and can't help but smile. The last photo was especially magical 🥹

📖 Are you team sunset or sunrise? 📖

I've tagged a couple of you, if you want to do your own sunshine book stack 🤭 No pressure!

Q| How would you describe your sense of humour?
-
It often depends on my mood, but I guess mine is quite dry and with my family, it’s more dark 😂 Nothing relating to serious diseases or racist jokes etc. Those are a no-go ✋

A Booknerd.magic’s guide to her humour:
★| The lower my social battery, the dryer my humour 😚
★| The more energy, the more giddy/cheesy 🤪

On the other hand, I tend to take jokes seriously, because (A) I just don’t get it, (B) I do find it funny but I don’t really express it facially, or (C) I’ll just go 🙂 “ok, bro. nice”. So, I’m also always amazed by the witty comebacks some fictional characters have, like, I wish my mind could work like that too, but in practice it just go blank whenever I’m in a social environment 🙈

But yeah, since I’m a nerdy (pop)cultured young adult, memes live rent-free in my head. And thus, sarcastic (side)characters will capture my heart very swiftly. (Kenji and Stiles, I’m looking at you).

I’ve already talked about The Crafting Con before, but it’s just that this book balances humour and sensitivity so well. Yes, it’s a funny coming-of-age featuring young adults going through hormones and the pressures of adulthood, but it also showcases the most tender moments in the chemistry between Eva and Declan, the friendships they have and nourish, and those tumoulous times of crisis. Especially on Eva’s side there’s a complex love-hate relationship with her and her father. That really gripped me and made me think about idolizing someone who changes slowly over time, but realizing too late that the person you’ve always loved is gone, right in front of you...🥺 Now a heartbreak is unpleasant, but this just another level of heartbreak.

Taken all this together, all these elements makes The Crafting Con beautifully humane, wrapped in the cutest pink cover! 💞

So, yeah. Happiest release day @e.p.stavs and you can get a copy on @whimsical.publishing ‘s site with a discount (10%) by using 𝗡𝗔𝗢𝗠𝗜𝟭𝟬 !
