Next up in our series of interviews with some of the artists nominated for the @majorminormusicaustralia Australian Children’s Music Awards is the most dynamic of duos - Esther and Maddy aka Whistle & Trick @whistleandtrick

These two have really built a dream team with their perfect pair and quite a few fantastic collaborators along for the fun. You may have seen their creativity in action on their videos that can be seen on the ABC. Their latest album, a dream collection of lullabyes, and the title track, “Chats With the Moon” are nominated for awards this year.

Thank you for talking with us, Whistle & Trick! 🩷🧡

Will you look at that!

Thank you @majorminormusicaustralia and @apraamcos for this lovely recognition.

There was so much wonderful music for children released in the last 12 months. Each one of these entries is a beautifully crafted little gem.

There were also a bunch of absolute bangers that didn't make the list. I especially want to shout out a song called "Try new Things" by @thelexman, which continues to live rent free inside my head.

Your streaming algorithms probably won't serve up these artists to you, so take the opportunity to add them to your playlists now.

Thanks to @lozzbenson, Sam Golding, @kay_yasugi and @seancareymusic for giving these chickens life.

Thanks to @youtube and @screenaustralia for the Skip Ahead funding which made this track possible.

And a special thank you to my Veggie Plot Productions buds Alvaro Del Campo and @nicktlorentzen

I can't quite believe it's been 40 years since 'Feathers, Fur or Fins' was released. Tomorrow marks the occasion with a special anniversary release.

I want to thank the following artists @thewiggles, @whistleandtrick, @emmamemmamemma, @robmillsymills, @thevegetableplot, @justineclarke @mickmchughmusic, @timfreedman, @mirusialouwerse, @daniellespencerofficial, @baileypickles, @therachaelbeck, @tiptoegiants for jumping on board this special project and performing their interpretations of the songs.

It is quite a task to gather such an amazing group of artists together. Each one brings their own unique sound to the songs. It's been a lot of fun listening to the new versions and quite a humbling experience for me.

While creating this new album, it made me reflect on how the success of the original album enabled me to start the Australian Children's Music Foundation, bringing the magic of music to disadvantaged children. As I always say, 'imagine a world without music'. Impossible!

I hope you enjoy the 40th Anniversary album as much as I have! #feathers, fur, fins #newmusic #nostalgia #childrensmusic #charity
