A centre hall table does more than fill an empty space. It acts as the anchor of the room, blending everyday functionality with high-impact design.

Now that the summer has “unofficially” ended and people are home from their travels, Heidi Avedisian, finds this shoulder season—a term midwesterners use to describe the transition times of the year—an ideal time to reconnect in the kitchen

Her eat-in-kitchen is set with lace linens to keep things bright as the autumn days approach

See “Savor the Season” for more from Heidi’s kitchen and her Granola recipe with sour cherries 🍒 in the NEW FALL MILIEU 2026 issue

I’ve got two words for you: chintz revival.

Once associated with country cottages and your granny’s curtains, chintz is back - but this time it feels layered, collected and surprisingly cool.

Think pairing with stripes, unexpected placements and pattern drenching.

Are you embracing the return of chintz, or is this one trend you’ll be leaving in the past?

Some plants inspiration for these summer days. We’ve been spending so much time outside, and in turn bringing the outside in thanks to our beautiful gardens!
