Art is more than something you hang on a wall.

It's something you experience.

The atmosphere. The conversations. The creativity. The moments when someone picks up a brush and discovers something they didn't know they had in them.

I've been bringing together my love for fine art, teaching, and creating experiences that connect people.

A little imagination, a little technology, and a whole lot of passion for the real thing.

Because behind every experience is an artist who believes in what he creates.

At the opening of my first solo art gallery exhibition 35 years ago, the gallery owner told me 6 of my 14 paintings had already sold, 3 being sunflower related, and if I had painted 14 sunflowers, she would have sold all 14 paintings that night. I said I don’t want to become the Sunflower Guy.
Flash forward to earlier this year when Whitney Modern asked for a warm and joyful body of work for a summertime show, sunflowers came back to mind.
I love Sunflowers. They are the embodiment of happiness - right up there with puppies, babies, and a good margarita. Just being in their presence makes you feel good. I hope to take something so loved as the sunflower and make it even happier in my paintings.
So, for now, I’m ok being the Sunflower Guy.

Rainbow has ended, but I’m still at the gallery open to clients who purchased work and to artists collecting their pieces. The end of a show is always bittersweet but this one made memories to last a lifetime! 🌈💕.
Still, I’m enjoying the little moments like lying on the floor in child’s pose and dead pug pose in the middle of the de-install with my fabulous helpers ( big hugs to @wendylowengrub, @t.giammattei.art @charlotte.kruk )! And catching the light from the window as it cast shadows on the cloud of my rainbow balloon tower! 🤍

Review: Rainbow, a group show at Whitney Modern:

“Rainbow, a show curated by artist and curator Marie Cameron at the Whitney Modern, features more than 130 works by 38 artists. Given the number of artists and the apparent heterogeneity of their works, one wonders whether all of them consciously worked on the concept of the rainbow in their respective practices. Hence, the curator’s concept is the primary premise of the review. The works exemplify the same. The catalog candidly mentions some artists who admit they barely felt the rainbow as a referential element in their works until the curator suggested it. Cameron presents Rainbow from multiple vantages - literal, intensely personal, referential, and political, affecting the masses. While viewing the show at the Whitney Modern, a sense of plurality, near-disparity, and yet a collective appeal is obvious. Nevertheless, the gallery space and its design help accommodate it seamlessly.” …

Artists: Wendy Ackrell, Jenna Bonistalli, Gabe Brown, Claire Buckley, Marie Cameron, Nicholaus James Dalton, Alexandrya Eaton, Erin Fong, Wendy Fountain, Theresa Giammattei, Rinat Goren, Karen M. Gutfreund, Seonna Hong, Ian James, Jaya King, Charlotte Kruk, Danielle Krysa, Kerith Lisi, Chandrika Marla, Alicia McCarthy, Stephanie Metz, Cuong Nguyen, Angel Oloshove, Elise Ordorica, Jonathan Parker, Heather Robinson, Stephanie Robison, Tino Rodriguez, Leah Rosenberg, Michaela Sampas, Sabrina Sanchez, Harumo Sato, Jenn Shifflett, Bob Stang, Gina Tuzzi, Victoria Wagner, Ails Whitman, and Christine Wilkinson.
