Newtownmountkennedy, possibly the longest town name in Ireland. Who came up with this exhausting idea? 😂
This small town sits on the edge of the Wicklow Mountains, just a few minutes' drive from Greystones. I would probably never have stopped here if it weren't for Wicklow Wolf Brewery. I'm not really into alcohol these days, but these guys rock! Their imagination when it comes to creating new and unconventional beers seems pretty much unlimited. There's always something new to discover here.
Aaaa... but we're supposed to be talking about coffee! ☕

I'm pretty sure they brew some coffee beers too, but let's stick to the classics. Apart from being a craft brewery, this place also hosts a rather cosy coffee bar. No fancy drinks on the menu, but you can enjoy a solid espresso or flat white.
They serve beans roasted by Never A Day's Trouble, a slightly enigmatic specialty coffee roastery from Wicklow. They offer a small selection of beans from different parts of the world, and the coffee served in the Wicklow Wolf taproom is Brazilian.

The coffee itself is well made and served in a proper cup, but my favourite part is the industrial brewery atmosphere. You can enjoy your coffee while breathing in the sweet scent of roasted malt, with fermentation tanks as your backdrop. Or, if industrial vibes aren't your thing, there's a cosy lounge with comfy sofas.
A perfect place to stop after a hike in the Wicklow Mountains, or simply to enjoy this rather unique combination of specialty coffee and craft brewery atmosphere. 🍻☕

Oh good lord.....🤤 The moment I opened this there was a waft of cinnamon and caramel. Tastes as it smells but even better 👌. Smooth, spicy, sweet....lush. I'll be picking this one up again. Endangered Species No. 72 Scoff Limits Caramelised Biscuit Stout @wicklowwolf 🍻🍻🍻

Wine news (the good and the sad), BYO cocktails are back, and hot dogs get an Irish makeover. This week’s news has a little bit of everything.

This week’s pub is @johnfallonsthecapstanbar - not only welcoming to locals and tourists alike, but a very reasonably-priced @wicklowwolf pint.

‘Disposable’ tour postcards. Some highlights from the disposable camera taken on our Germany tour this week visiting some of our suppliers. There’s very little here from our friends at BESTMALZ and BayWa who were the stars of the tour, but that wasn’t the point of this camera, it lived in our pockets, ready to get passed around in the bars after our learnings, and in the van between visits. Sitting at the airport now, flicking through these photos choosing which to upload (lots have a thumb over most of the shot), I’m feeling so thankful for the laughs and company of everyone I’ve spent the last week on tour with. We learnt a lot, we chatted a lot about beer, we also chatted a lot of shit together, we drank a lot of incredible bevs, we drove a lot of miles, we laughed a real lot, I got really sick and survived (just about). I love coming to Germany and it was such a treat to share it with so many friends. BTW, I took my proper camera and did use it at BESTMALZ and BayWa, so there will be content of actual ingredient things uploaded at some point, I promise. Now home to my love for hugs and bed, I’m so tired. @brewersselect

A great night at the Pure 20th Anniversary Awards, celebrating 20 years of protecting our rural uplands and recognising the volunteers, community groups and businesses who help keep Wicklow looking its best. 👏

Delighted to see EcoTrail Wicklow recognised for our part in the clean-up of Ballyremon Commons — with a huge thank you to @wicklowwolf Run Club who organised the clean-up and got everyone involved. 💚

A gorgeous evening in BrookLodge to mark a brilliant 20 years of PURE.

Thanks so much to Ian Davis and all the PURE team for having us — and congratulations on 20 years! 🙌
