POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Packing is harder than the training! The house is a disaster, but slowly everything is coming together! Race outfits, fuel, toiletries, recovery gear… am I forgetting anything?!

I still am working on all things Antarctica, and I have 7 outfits instead of 6 for the other days, need to pick which ones will make the cut?!

The Great World Race starts November 15, and it’s getting REAL! 7 marathons. 7 continents. 7 days.

When things get hard, I’ll remember my why: raising awareness for suicide and raising $7,770 for Widdy’s Work. Reese’s words, “Do what I couldn’t do; get help.”

What a week! 108.5 miles, 5 days of 20+ miles and the longest and fastest day was Day 5!

Training for the Great World Race is a hard. Mentally, physically and emotionally. There have been tears and doubt along with laughs and smiles and fun times. I've met amazing women also running this race and another friend who is doing the World Marathon Challenge in January. And- I wouldn't change a thing. It all got me to where I am now. Taper Time. I've completed the hardest week of training in my plan. Not only did I do it, I feel GREAT. Not ok, not like I can manage, but truly good.

Now, it's time to let the work "absorb" these next few days and then get right back into training and keep the mind and body ready.

When things get hard, I’ll remember my WHY. 💜

I’m running 7 marathons on 7 continents in one week for something bigger than me.

I’m running in honor of Reese Widman and to support Widdy’s Work and suicide awareness. Reese’s words were: “Do what I couldn’t do; get help.”

If sharing my journey helps even one person know they aren’t alone, every mile is worth it. Let’s stomp out stigma and remind people that YOU MATTER.

My goal is to raise $7,770 for Widdy’s Work. If you’d like to be part of this mission, you can register for Miles That Matter: The 777 Movement and/or donate. Every bit of support makes a difference.

I did it! And. I couldn't be happier about how it went. My last run today was the longest and fastest and I kept my heart rate in zone 2. #Goals evenore important is I feel good.

5 days of 20+ miles in a row. Peak week. I was so scared for this week, and while, as a coach. I'm constantly saying "trust the training" it's not an easy thing to do.

7 marathons on 7 continents in one week somehow seems possible now.

When things get hard, I’ll remember my WHY. 💜

I’m running the Great World Race for something bigger than me: suicide awareness and supporting Widdy’s Work.

Reese Widman was on my nephew’s baseball team. His words, “Do what I couldn’t do; get help,” are a reminder that we never know what someone else is going through. Let’s stomp out the stigma and remind people that they matter. 💜

Recovery is KEY to being able to keep up with all the miles.

First priority is sleep. Then nutrition. Then.... all the things. Acupuncture. Chiropractor. Physical Therapist. Compression boots. Yoga classes.

My acupuncturist said it best, when your training gets intense, so should your recovery.

2/5 long runs finished and feeling strong.

It's hard to believe the race I've spent four years dreaming of, planning and training for is HERE. Less than one month and I'll be in Cape Town, South Africa, ready to take on the biggest challenge of my life.

When things get hard, I’ll remember WHY I’m doing this.

I’m running for suicide awareness and to raise money for Widdy’s Work, founded by Reese Widman’s parents in his memory.

Reese’s words were: “Do what I couldn’t do; get help.”

Let’s stomp out the stigma, remind people they matter, and make sure no one feels alone.

Another week of training for @thegreatworldrace in the books!

Gorgeous Fall runs in both Baltimore and NYC, running around Central Park with @jennyruns7 was a highlight for sure! I also attended three Peloton classes and was in with @becsgentry for my 2000th run, AND some tips for 777. Of course, I was in NYC so it was also all about the food and coffee. Thanks to @lnsilver and @niclea_ for always taking the time to hang out!

Race packing was the focus this week and I did some serious work! I spent yesterday preparing five race day bags, including pre, during and post race fuel. Also packed my after race shower bag, all in hopes of learning what I have in the bags and what I might be missing. I started a five day 20+ mile block and my peak week today. I'm excited and terrified all at once. Both can be true.

The race is getting so close, and it's going to be hard. I have to keep reminding myself that I can do this.

The purpose is bigger than me. I'm running for suicide awareness and to support Widdy's Work, created by Reese Widman's parents to honor Reese, a young person who died by suicide.

“Do what I couldn’t do; get help.” These are Reese’s words, and a reminder that you matter.

Tomorrow I start a five day race simulation for @thegreatworldrace and I'm READY!

Peak week is here, and I can't believe how close the race is, time is just flying by. I'm absolutely terrified and completely excited at the same time.

If I never see another Pop Tart or gel again after this race that will be ok with me! If all goes well, I'll have over 35 gels in the next 5 days.

Things are going to get tough this week. They are going to be tough during the race. I just need to be tougher. I know I can do hard things. I know I can do this. But there are still moments when I just think who do I think I am?! Imposter syndrome is real.

When things get tough, I’ll think about why I’m running.

I’m running for suicide awareness, to stomp out stigma, and to support Widdy’s Work and the message that YOU MATTER.

“Help as many people as you can.”

Those were some of Reese’s final words to his parents.

He also left a message for his baseball brothers: do what he couldn’t do and get help.

Corey and Kelly could have kept those words private. Instead, they created @widdys_work and made it their mission to keep sharing Reese’s message.

Not just because of the baseball player he was.

Because of the son, teammate, friend, student, and person he was to so many people.

There’s a lot of pain behind this story. But there’s also a message Reese clearly wanted people to hear:

If you’re struggling, please tell someone. Get help. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Thank you Corey and Kelly for trusting us with Reese’s story.

Fall fun at its best! This week started birthday month, and I'm here for it!

Training for The Great World Race is a lot. I spend most of my time working out, recovering, sleeping or eating. This week I decided to skip/move my Friday long run to do a last minute trip to the beach, and I loved it. But I would be lying if I said it didn't cause a lot of stress. Logically all I had to do was run Saturday morning instead of Friday. But.... All the Friday things had to be shifted too. Food prep. Cleaning the house. Washing the sheets. No time to recover. Work emails. All. The. Things. When you're training as much as I am, every second is planned and one slight change shifts everything.

This week's focus was Race Clothes and I'm happy to report I have three I'm good with and getting closer to having all six! Antarctica is it's own situation that I'm.still trying to figure out...

The race is getting so close. I am terrified. And excited. I just keep thinking about my why, I'm running for Suicide Awareness and to raise money for Widdy's Work. Suicide Awareness month may be over, but that doesn't mean the story ends here.

My Week in Numbers- The Great World Race is 49 days away!

This week’s focus was packing, and I managed to pack toiletries, blister kit, (that I probably won't even use) and my sleep kit. It's a start, but LOTS left to figure out!

Another week of training for the Great World Race and not having three long runs this week made me feel like I was slacking. I was supposed to run a 20-mile race Sunday, but with the pouring rain, I decided a marathon on the treadmill was a pretty good trade-off. No medals, no view, no people to run with, but I didn't want to risk getting sick.

Recovery is still a huge part of the training, and I’m loving it. @ritualwc is absolutely beautiful! A new option for date night. And as usual, my favorite number is sleep average per night ... 8+ hours is necessary to keep up with this amount of training.

Now it’s Sunday football + recovery boots before another training week begins.

Another week in the books. 49 days until the Great World Race! 🌎 7 marathons. 7 continents. 7 days.

And I’m running for Suicide Awareness. 💜

September is Suicide Awareness Month, and I’m using this crazy adventure to help raise awareness, stomp out stigma, and support Widdy’s Work.

🏁 WEEKLY TRAINING PLAN: RACE WEEK! 🏁

Apparently I looked at my training plan and thought, “You know what this needs? A HYROX.” 😂

So this week I’m heading to DC to take on a HYROX Women’s Doubles — just me, doing my own thing and throwing something different into the training mix. 💪🏼🔥

Then comes a TOUGH three-day running block:

🏃🏼‍♀️ Thursday: 13–15 miles
🏃🏼‍♀️ Friday: 20–22 miles
🏃🏼‍♀️ Saturday: Charles Street 12 + a few extra miles to bring it back to 13–15

Because nothing says race week quite like stacking a whole lot of miles on top of everything else. 😂

But this training is about so much more than getting across a finish line.

I’m training for The Great World Race to show that women can do hard things as we age. We can get stronger, keep setting BIG goals, try new things, push our limits and refuse to believe that getting older means slowing down. ❤️‍🔥

And I’m running for a purpose: suicide awareness and Widdy’s Work. 🩵

My goal is to get 777 people registered to MOVE WITH ME for The Great World Race!

✨ Registration is FREE
✨ The link is in my bio
✨ Register, move with me.

And I’m starting the week in Ft. Lauderdale, trying out a new recovery place today with some of my favorite people.

My kinda fun. My kinda friends. 🫶🏼

And while I’m down here, I’m also starting to plan the PARTY at the end of The Great World Race! 🎉🌎

Because this isn’t just going to be a finish-line celebration…

It’s also my 50th birthday celebration! 🥳🎂

And naturally, I picked a theme: MIAMI VICE. 🌴🩷💙

So yes… I’m currently in Ft. Lauderdale, recovering with friends, planning a Miami Vice 50th birthday bash AND the end-of-race celebration, while also preparing to run a ridiculous number of miles.

Honestly?

My kinda fun. 😂

Training is tough. The goal is BIG. The purpose is bigger. And there is going to be one hell of a party at the end. 🎉

Who’s moving with me? 🩵🏃🏼‍♀️🌎

September is Suicide Awareness Month. 💜

This month feels especially meaningful to me as I get ready to run The Great World Race.

I’m running for the people we’ve lost to suicide.

I’m running for the families and friends who are left behind and who carry that loss with them every single day.

And I’m running because I want people to know that they matter. Their life matters. Asking for help matters.

I’m incredibly proud to be supporting Widdy’s Work through this journey. 💜

And I want you to be part of it too.

🏃‍♀️ MILES THAT MATTER

You do not have to be a runner. You don't have to run a marathon.

Dedicate one mile, 10 miles, 100 miles, whatever feels right to you, to someone you love.

Run. Walk. Move. Just move with me.

Our goal is 777 people moving together and raising $7,770 for Widdy’s Work.

Registration is FREE.

If you have lost someone to suicide, you can dedicate your miles to them. If you want to, tell me their name. Tell me about them. I would love to know who you are running for.

This is about remembering people. Honoring people. And reminding each other that we matter.

Come move with me. 💜

For something that matters so much more than a finish line.
