POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

"There's so much online, there really is something for everybody, because nobody else is going to get it like another widow. There is something empowering and safe and loving about being around other people. But I still felt like I wasn't hearing the conversations I wanted to hear. I wanted to hear all of it. I wanted long conversations with people, and that is basically what the podcast became."

Rosie Moss was widowed at 37 and felt very alone. In this clip she explains why she started her podcast, @widowed_af , and how it grew into a space where widowed people tell their stories.

What happens when you lose someone suddenly… and their body is never found?

That’s the heartbreaking reality Rosie Moss has lived with since her husband Ben died in a diving accident in 2018.

In our next episode of The Widow Podcast, Rosie shares her story with such honesty and warmth.

We talk about grief without certainty, parenting through unimaginable loss, keeping someone’s memory alive in everyday life, finding love again, sobriety and the things Rosie has learned from nearly 200 conversations with people about loss.

Today, the podcast I recorded with the wonderful Rosie Moss has been released.

It was a real privilege to be invited on as a guest. Rosie’s podcast, and the incredible stories shared by her previous guests, have helped me more than I can put into words as I’ve tried to navigate my own grief journey.

Being given the opportunity to sit down and tell Stephanie’s story, from beginning to end, was incredibly special. It was emotional, difficult at times, but also strangely comforting to talk so openly about our life together, the memories we made, the challenges we faced and, ultimately, the heartbreaking reality of losing her.

Telling her story doesn’t mean that chapter of my life is closed. Far from it. Stephanie will always be part of who I am, and her story will continue through me, Ada, Otis and everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her.

But there is something quite cathartic about getting it all out there, knowing that her story has been heard and that, just maybe, it might help someone else navigating a similar journey.

A huge thank you to Rosie for giving me the space, kindness and encouragement to share something so personal.

If you find the time to have a listen, I’d love for you to hear Stephanie’s story. Not just how it ended, but the beautiful life she lived and the incredible person she was.

Forever loved, forever missed and forever talked about. ❤️🦋

I will post the Spotify link but it’s can also be found on YouTube and Apple Podcast

GOLDMANOLIS PRESENTS : The Black Cat is full of mystery, surprise, feral leadership, silent audacity, grace under fire, silent screaming, meow companionship, elongated erotica, and utter and complete independence. A dog may be man’s best friend, but, a Black Cat is his Optimus.

You think that if somebody you love dies, you'd know on some cellular level. I just had no clue.

Rosie Moss, host of @widowed_af , on the ordinary morning that became the worst day of her life. Hours before police arrived at her door, she'd been chatting in the school playground about electric bills, joking about what she'd do if her husband Ben dropped dead. That evening, a search and rescue for Ben, missing on a routine dive, became a search and recovery.

Shoot the Sh!t w/ Britt. Episode 3

Today’s episode is a little different.

Today marks six months since we lost Rob, and I honestly don’t know how to put that into words.

Six months.

Half a year of living this life without him here beside us. Half a year of moments he should have been here for. Games, trips, dinners, milestones, random little things that I still immediately think I need to tell him about.

It doesn’t feel possible that this much time has already passed.

So today, instead of sitting down and talking through something, I wanted to share something that came straight from my heart in one of the hardest moments of my life.

These are the words I spoke at my husband’s funeral.

The words I used to honor him.

The words I somehow stood up and said when my entire world had just changed.

And watching this back six months later is almost impossible.

I look at the version of myself standing there and I already feel so far away from her. She had absolutely no idea what the next six months were going to look like. How much life would keep moving. How many firsts we would have to walk through without him. How much I would change just trying to figure out how to keep going while missing him at the same time.

But the words I said that day still mean everything to me.

They still feel like him.

They still feel like us.

And they are still words I carry with me every single day.

My heart is just really heavy today.

I miss my husband.

I miss my best friend.

I miss the person I was when he was still standing next to me.

And I just really fucking miss him.

Six months, Rob.

We miss you babe, so so much.
We love you forever.

How to actually help someone who is grieving.

We often say “Let me know if there is anything I can do”, which whilst well intentioned, is asking a lot of someone who can’t make sense of what’s going on.

Comment “ROSIE” & I will send you the full Conversation.

Widowhood can be lonely. It can be frightening, overwhelming and incredibly sad. Grief is often debilitating, and for many widows and widowers, it can leave you feeling invisible and unseen.

The Widows Fight campaign was born from a deeply unfair reality. Every day, we hear heartbreaking stories from people who are struggling financially after the death of their husband, wife or partner. Thousands of widows and widowers across the UK are facing hardship because the support available simply isn’t where it needs to be.

But amongst the pain, the frustration and the fight for change, something truly beautiful has happened.

People have come together, united by a shared goal and a determination to make things better for those who come after us. Along the way, friendships have been formed, support networks have grown, and people who once felt completely alone have found others who truly understand.

That was so evident this weekend at the Widowed & Young AGM, where many members of our team came together to celebrate, connect and reflect on how far we’ve come. We were incredibly proud to see Caroline nominated for the Mandy Burrows Award. While she may not have taken home the award this time, she will always be a winner in our eyes. Her tireless dedication, compassion and determination have inspired so many people. This weekend was a reminder that while none of us would have chosen this journey, there is strength in standing together. The connections we make, the friendships we build and the support we give one another matter enormously.

We will take that sense of togetherness forward as we continue this fight. Because change matters. Because widows and widowers deserve better. And because no one should have to face grief, financial hardship and isolation alone.

❤️ Together, we are stronger. Together, our voices are louder. Together, we will keep fighting.
