A new season for the Dark Cornwall Fête.

For personal reasons and family commitments, we made the decision to move this year’s Dark Cornwall Fête to 20th March 2027, Ostara and the Spring Equinox.

And, actually, it feels rather fitting.

A day balanced between light and dark, marking the turning of the seasons and the beginning of spring, feels like a wonderful time to bring everyone together again.

To celebrate this new chapter, we commissioned the incredible @wild.wisdom.arts to create her own rendition of Ostara, with one of our favourite symbols of transformation and growth, the adder, front and centre. Make sure you give Katy a follow if you don’t already.

We’ll be returning to the beautiful woodland surroundings of @thearboristcafe at Killiow Estate, with folklore, strange creatures, talks, spoken word, makers, workshops and plenty more throughout the day.

As evening arrives, we’ll gather around our ceremonial Ostara bonfire to add our blessings and wishes for spring, before live music carries the celebrations into the evening.

Thank you to everyone who has been so understanding about the change. I’m genuinely excited about what we can create for Ostara.

20th March 2027. The Arborist, Killiow Estate. The Dark Cornwall Fête returns.

You can book your tickets now at darkcornwall.com/fete. If you can, please book early - it is really helpful for planning purposes and creating the best possible event for everyone. 🙏🏼☺️

The Magic Landscape of Belerion

A talk by me at The Cornish Sacred Landscape Exhibition, Penzance, 20th June 2026, about the ancient sites of West Penwith.

With lots of maps and pics in a downloadable Powerpoint slideshow. This is an audio podcast with a Powerpoint added. A few of the maps are shown here.

It is for you who missed it, or for you who live in Cornwall or for you who might be visiting soon. Or perhaps you're just vaguely interested - it's interesting stuff, as it happens.

My starting place is the observation that, every time I go to a stone circle, cliff sanctuary or quoit, I come away changed. Especially if I spend time there and let myself float off, listening, musing, meditating. There's something here to do with consciousness and other realms of reality.

There's also the matter of earth energy. My specialism is alignments (or leylines), and in this talk I explain about them, showing how they knit the many and various sites in Penwith, big and small, into one integrated system.

Penwith is one big ancient site, one big cliff sanctuary, at the southwest end of the mainland of the Isles of Britain.

Its ancient name of Belerion, recorded by Diodorus Siculus in 60 BCE, means shining, radiant, or perhaps scintillating, land. And it is, and it does. And that's what this is all about.

This post is for anyone who missed Palden's wonderful talk last weekend at The Cornish Sacred Landscape , or anyone who attended who wants a closer look at some of the slides from his presentation. For some reason this post uploaded without Paldens blurb!.

This post was reproduced from facebook, with kind permission from Palden @paldywankenobi.

We are so very grateful and honoured that he gave this wonderful lecture last weekend 🙏🌻 what a brilliant human and dear friend xx

Please check out his amazing website Ancient sites of Penwith. His amazing book Shining land is available online for free, however we hope to hear about a physical copy being published at some point in the future.
