Hello from me and Basil! 🐾 Thank you for following my creative page and journey, it means so much to me 🧡

I feel like I’m constantly evolving, rearranging, hiding and emerging as an Artist in various forms. There’s so many different paths to take, forms of inspiration & beauty to paint, ideas to realise and crafts to learn & make!

Yet at the core the essence of what lights me up and guides me remains fundamentally the same…
🌿 To reflect the beauty and spirit of nature through art & creativity
🌿 To work with & respect the land
🌿 To use materials consciously
🌿 To celebrate the cycles & seasons
🌿 To honour the old ways & be open to welcoming new
🌿 To embody being in service and full self expression (an ongoing everlasting journey)
🌿 To create connections with subject & natural mediums so that their spirit may be carried through the piece
🌿 To spark joy
(the idea of any joy inspired through connecting with art I’ve created makes me immeasurably happy 😘)

These are the driving forces behind what keeps me making and creating, through the chaos and the ups and downs of life.

What lights you up? I’d love to know 😊

🌬️ 🤍 Recently I’ve decided to share a little more openly on here about my neurodivergence & health as a way to show up more holistically.
I feel this will be good for my own self acceptance as well as hopefully creating positive & relatable moments with others 🧡

Wishing you a wonderful day beauties and thank you for being here and reading 🤍

Much 💗

It’s finished! 🙌 What a privilege to get to paint this piece for Dark Cornwall 🧡

🖤 The theme for this symbolic piece is Ostara, when the Dark Cornwall Fete will be being held within the grounds of @thearboristcafe in 2027

KERNOW OSTARA

🌞 The Sun is gaining strength, solar energy on the soil, a call to “wake up” a balancing of light & dark 🖤
🌿 The uncurling “fiddlehead” ferns are full of potential! A recipe for what’s to come…
🌀 Ferns are tied to the Fae & liminal spaces where worlds intersect 🧚
🐍 The Adder you may find in Kernow, a symbol of transformation & rebirth
🌼 White flowers known as “Adders Meat” in Cornwall said to bloom before the Adder emerges & if picked beware of becoming turned around by the Piskies!
🌌 Rooting into the stars, honouring the night & the balance of it all, honouring those who have come before ✨

🧡 I really hope you enjoy this piece & it’s celebration of life emerging from the darkness, the transformation that takes place at the time of Ostara with a nod to magick, myth & folklore ✨

🖤 Do check out the magickal world of @darkcornwall & nab yourself a ticket to the Fete next year 🤗

Much 🧡

🎨 A close up of a little something I’m working on for a very special client 🖤

I LOVE to work on symbolic pieces where each element from nature tells a story, every part of this painting means something & it’s a real pleasure bringing it to life 🫶

🎃 Yes that is Harry Potter music playing in the background! for anyone who recognised it? 😂
I find having an immersive world playing next to me really helps my neurodivergent brain be able to focus for longer 🧠 ✨
🎃 The background ambience is the Herbology greenhouse in Autumn, stuffed full of glowing pumpkins & falling leaves 🍂 (very pleasing 🤌)
Also recording myself painting seems to help too! A bit like body doubling I suppose 🤔

Anyway I hope you enjoy the little glimpse into the art nest 🪺 better get back to it now 🤗 & wishing you a wonderful end to the week! 🍂

You have a magickal recipe! we all do 🌿📜✨
And something I take great pleasure from is tapping into yours through the power of Art, Nature, Symbolism & a sprinkling of magick 🧙🏼‍♀️✨

Here is a piece I loved creating to celebrate my dear friend Shilly & her magick while calling in some Snake, Owl, Rose & cosmic energy into her space 🌹✨

Connecting with you on a deeper level, celebrating you, commemorating your loved ones, calling in change or alchemising the shadows, the harder times… through Art, Symbolism & Nature gives me a profound sense of fulfilment.

Witnessing what it means to someone when we go on these journeys feels like such a privilege & I’m really looking forward to exploring this way of working together more 🫶

Happy Monday lovelies! Remember that ✨you✨ are a magickal being 🤗

🧡 Grateful to be back in my little art nest today working on the finishing touches for this piece “Blackberry Wren” 🎨🌿🪶

💚 Which I’m very excited to say is going to be part of an exhibition with @darkcornwall at @national_trust_trelissick this Autumn! 🥰 🍁

🧡 Last few months have been full of managing my #neurodivergence #fnd & #ms whilst adapting my creative practice to reflect my capacity 🫶

💚 It’s been a trip! It still is 😅 getting in the sea as much as possible, learning to self soothe, step away from my phone, listen to my symptoms & not push through (name my #RSD “Patricia” & tell her to go do one!) 🌊 have all helped immensely & I’m feeling hopeful 🥰

🧡 I’ve got a few exciting things brewing in my creative cauldron & I’m looking forward to sharing them with you 🍵 🧙‍♀️

Much 💚

Bittersweet🪼A beautiful little jelly captured by @jonathon_greenwood on one of the many glorious snorkels around Falmouth 🩵

🌊 Sadly plans to dredge could release harmful toxins into the sea here if not stopped or proper precautions put in place. Once done, this can not be undone, damage to marine life & the ecology would be a great loss for our community, future generations, visitors & lovers of the ocean 🌊

🩵 We are proud to have some of the most diverse & ecologically valuable marine life here in the UK. Just check out incredible examples from @adamradage_wild & @giosdiving to see some of the wonders beneath the waves 🌊

😔 The dredging plans could be confirmed any day now with very little widespread awareness of this being the case…

🩵 @stopthedredge are looking to ignite a last beacon of hope to prevent the dredging going ahead (especially without confirmed precautions in place to protect our wildlife)

🩵 If you want to get involved then the best thing you can do right now is to:

🩵 Follow @stopthedredge to stay up to date, share their page to spread awareness
🩵 If you have time then follow the links in their bio to find out how you can help more and take action that may have a direct impact 🤗

✉️ Currently calling & emailing or writing our concerns (advice on how to do this is also available) to a list of councillors mentioned in a @stopthedredge post and in their links is a very helpful course of action 🫶 something I will be doing myself asap.

🩵 If you find emailing etc overwhelming (like myself) then just remember it doesn’t have to be perfect 🤗 we all deserve to have our voices heard.

Thank you so much for reading & please do share if you feel called or able to 🙏🏻

My first little experiment in filming & editing nature ventures 🌿✨

Starring:
💛 A lovely clouded yellow butterfly, apparently you can tell if they are female through bright yellow dots on the edge of their wing 🪽 I’ll have to take a closer look! 👀

🪰 a rather beautifully coloured & patterned Tachinid fly aptly referred to as ‘The Footballer’ or ‘Jazzy Fly’ I just thought this little being was so cool, maybe one to do a paint study from 🎨

⁉️ A mystery orange/red butterfly that I couldn’t identify for sure… any ideas?

🧡 Enjoyed putting this tiny clip together to share with you 🤗 When my mental health isn’t great I tend to become quieter on here & seek out nature 🌬️🤍 it is my hope that by capturing some of these peaceful moments you may enjoy them too 🤗

🌻 I made it to the exhibition! 😅 Its not always easy getting about with #fnd but my lovely friend Laura, my husband @jg_woodcraft_ & the lovely organisers & Artists @caroline_wallis_dark_artist & @eudyptula_ made it possible for me to be part of this magickal event (even just for a little bit) & I’m so very grateful to all of you as well as all the other amazing Artists involved 😘🙏🏻✨

🌞 Did you manage to pop down this Solstice weekend?? If not then I hope you enjoy this little peek at some of the magick on show. The Artists I got to meet were so welcoming & talented, it’s a proper treat to be a part of the @carncrescentcrow collective 🥰🐦‍⬛🌙

🌀 Connections with other Artists & community feels so important when you spend a lot of time as a paint covered hermit (crab?) 😅 🎨 🐚 🦀 hopefully I’ll be able to be part of more events & shows like this in the future outside of my little creative cave🤞

🩵 More to come on this piece when I get it back from the exhibition…. 👀 but for now Solstice blessings lovelies!! Wishing you a gentle & nourishing start to the second half of the year 🤗
🌻🌞🧡🌞🌻

The painting so far of St Nectans Glen Waterfall in Cornwall for the Sacred Landscapes exhibition
with @carncrescentcrow 19th-21st June 🌞
💦✨🙏🏻

Painting touches of gold light & lots of little details in the mosses, bird feathers, liverworts & rocks to be added. I’m also getting through a lot of tea & pondering! 🫖🍵😅

Very grateful for these peaceful moments ☺️🤍
