(artist statement)

Willomena Petrina, Lady of the Lost. Born from the many tears shed for a once-great civilization, she rose from its cracks to become a protector, guide, and living bridge between what has been and what is yet to come. She weeps for what once was, yet urges life onward.

Heavily inspired by Dark Romanticism and the Gothic Aesthetic, Willomena blends dramatic forms with whimsical, organic elements to celebrate nature’s duality. Both haunting and graceful, she stands as a guardian of fallen Gothic grandeur, long since reclaimed by the garden. Forever the weeping woman of ruin 🌀

made with wood, wire, fabric, foam, paint, found/given materials including mannequins, mirrors, jewelry/beads, gobs of belt from the floor of an abandoned warehouse, and lots and lots of @pal_tiya (and love)

3rd year doing this thing and I couldn’t love it more - even in the hardest and darkest moments. This sculpt challenged me not only physically (hours and hours of standing on ladders is not for the weak) but in ways I hadn’t yet faced so intensely in my art: unseen mental battles with insecurity, anxiety, and the feeling of not being good enough lingered throughout the entirety of this journey. Imposter syndrome was (is) through the roof on this one even still. But alas we persist.

the natural light in this ROOM! ☀️ i’m grateful to have had the opportunity to shoot in @the.vv.showroom today, and let me tell you - it was a dream. we basically played real life barbies and built my dream house. their collection is endless and picking favorite pieces is impossible 😭 thank you to Violet Vintage @violetvintagerentals and all of my amazing models!
