In times of turbulence, befriend nature and simple rituals for a little dose of hope and healing.

🌿Holy basil, also known as Tulsi is a sacred herb in Indian traditions including Ayurveda. Holy Basil has adaptogenic qualities-it promotes resiliency and increases the ability to deal with stress. It helps modulate the nervous system, bolsters the immune system and encourages feelings of harmony, peace and calm.

For this collaboration, Hillary of Wildflower Tea & Apothecary chose three of her favorite herbs for their healing magic, and Diana of Mermaid Alchemy illustrated them to bring their beauty to life. Together, we crafted simple rituals to guide you through moments of uncertainty with peace and a touch of magic.

🌹Rose is a symbol of love and beauty, and it lends those qualities as an herbal ally. It is healing for both the physical and emotional heart-supporting both the cardiovascular system and encouraging emotional wellbeing. The energy is lightly cooling and it has astringent properties. And of course, rose is a true delight to the senses.

🌿Lemon balm feels like sunshine for the spirit. It’s a nervine herb so it loves up and soothes your nervous system. It delights and uplifts the mood. It’s carries a sense of calm, without putting you to sleep. It’s also fragrant and makes a tasty sip.

Today marks the last day of business at @wildflowerteashop and my last shift here. I don’t have the words to express what this space has meant to me. I met my best friends in or through this space. So much of my own personal growth took place behind the counter. It was to me exactly as we intended it: a safe space for healing, community, and connection.. and some things we didn’t plan: dance parties after hours, shared tears, uncontrollable laughter and so much more. To me, this space is home. I can’t begin to describe how I will miss being here. Every memory I have from inside these four walls and with the wildflower family is so dear to my heart, and fills me with unbelievable joy. If you got a cup of tea from us at any point, know that we truly meant it as an outpouring of love from our hearts to yours.

I remember exactly what I wore for my interview on this gold sofa before the doors were even open. I had no idea how much impact this place (and the family created by it) would have on my life. And how much more of myself I would find in it. I only knew I belonged here.

I’m going to post more videos and photos as I find them this evening.

In remembrance of the inspiration and beauty I’ve received from @wildflowerteashop 🌸🌼💐🪻☕️

Unfortunately, my favorite place in Chattanooga is closing down their physical location at the end of the year😢 I’ve always loved coming here - to read, to work, to paint - and I’ve painted the space several times. So I thought I’d post a little throwback in honor of the end of an era:

Painting 1: The first piece I did, painted in 2020. This is a painting of the first time I went to Wildflower. I was greeted by this lovely bouquet of flowers and an even lovelier mandala of flower pieces on the ground.

Painting 2: I painted this one while in the shop itself for one of my YouTube videos (“Painting my Town! Urban Painting all over Chattanooga”), and it has to be my favorite one. Prints of this piece were available in Wildflower’s shop for a little while.

Painting 3: This one was commissioned as a gift for the owner! Such an honor to paint it. The items in the picture represent the ladies who all helped start the shop.

Painting in progress: This piece at the end is a commission I’m currently working on for one of the many people that hold the shop in a special place in their heart 🫶🏻

Thank you Wildflower for providing such a joyous and beautiful space for the past years! The ending of something only makes that thing all the more beautiful during the time it existed. (And Wildflower’s story is far from over - they still sell online, and who knows what else will happen in the future!)
