Moments of joy from @wildgroundedretreats Mother & Son Retreat that I was invited to document this weekend.

I witnessed some very (very) cool whittling creations (demo & teachings by @outandaboutfns @aryagoingoutside), Mother vs Son vs Sibling vs Gravity obstacle course building and running, Laughter Yoga ( @elkejohayoga ), some string & nail art...and honestly, so much EXISTING.

Yeah, it was for moms and sons - but what I noticed was just...boyhood. The way that the lads interacted together. All ages, all demographics, just existing together as a bunch of silly kids. It was awesome.

Also the food. dude. insanity. @his_hers_grazing was Saturday lunch and they catered to my every gluten free sugar free whim, and I love them. If @wildgrounded would tag whoever their regular caterer is also - she made probably the best lemon loaf I've ever had and deserves a public shoutout and actually probably all my money.

Nothing profound will come from me...I am an observer in all things and a participant in few but being invited into these moments of joy and love is what keeps me coming back every time.

We created this retreat because we see how much women in leadership carry.

The pressure to perform.
The responsibility for others.
The constant pace of work and life.

As a therapist working in burnout prevention, I know how important it is to pause before exhaustion sets in.

This August, Maegan from White Pine Yoga and I are bringing together two things we care deeply about:

Supporting women’s wellbeing and the healing power of nature.

The Grounded Leader Retreat is an overnight experience designed to help women step out of the busyness of life and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way.

Together we will explore burnout prevention, nervous system awareness, restorative yoga, and the simple gift of time in nature.

August 23–24
Wild Grounded Retreats

Investment: $450+HST
Includes accommodations, meals, yoga, and workshops.

Spots are intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate.

Registration link can be sent by email. Reach out to Julie; wildgroundedretreats@gmail.com

Imagine stepping away from your responsibilities for just one night…

Waking up slowly.
Sharing nourishing meals.
Moving your body gently.
Learning practical tools to support your nervous system.
Spending time by the river.
Connecting with other thoughtful and inspiring women.

This is the intention behind our upcoming retreat in collaboration with White Pine Yoga.

What the weekend includes:

• Yin/Yang yoga with Maegan from White Pine Yoga
• Burnout prevention workshop & nervous system education
• Restorative touch yoga in the evening
• Time to kayak, swim, rest, or simply enjoy the grounds
• Guided hike through Westmeath Provincial Park
• Beautiful shared accommodations
• Gourmet meals throughout your stay

This retreat is designed for women in leadership and professional roles who want to prevent burnout while reconnecting with themselves.

Running a business, management, entrepreneurship, leading others can be deeply meaningful work.

It can also be a lot to hold.

The decisions.
The expectations.
The constant giving of your time, energy, and attention.

Many women in leadership roles are incredibly capable at caring for everyone else… but rarely pause long enough to restore themselves.

This August, we are creating a space for exactly that.

The Grounded Leader Retreat is a gentle overnight retreat for women in leadership and business who want to step away from the pace of daily life and reconnect with themselves.

Through yoga, nature, reflection, and meaningful conversation, we will explore ways to prevent burnout and cultivate a more sustainable way of leading.

Expect nourishing meals, time by the river, restorative practices, and connection with other women who understand the pressures of leadership.
