A little bit of turtle magic on the trail today! 🐢 ❤️🌲☮️

There is something about walking in nature that invites us to slow down.

To notice the changing colours of fall.
To breathe a little deeper.
To look up, look around, and sometimes stop for a tiny turtle making its way through the woods.

Walk and Talk Therapy offers an alternative way to experience therapy — moving your body, being outdoors, and having space to talk while nature becomes part of the process.

As the seasons change, the trails offer their own kind of beauty, quiet and perspective.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy but the idea of sitting across from someone in an office doesn’t quite feel like you, perhaps a walk might feel more natural.

I currently have a couple of openings for fall/winter Walk and Talk Therapy for women.

Sometimes healing can begin with simply putting one foot in front of the other. #walkandtalktherapy taken in Renfrew County by @wildgrounded

What if therapy didn’t always have to happen sitting across from someone in an office?

This fall and winter, I have two spots available for walk and talk therapy for women— a nature-based approach to counselling where we step outside, walk at a comfortable pace, and allow the natural world to become part of the therapeutic space.

There is something about walking side by side, surrounded by trees, open sky and fresh air, that can make it easier to breathe, think, talk and simply be.

Walking can help settle the nervous system, reduce stress, support emotional regulation and create a little more space for reflection. And sometimes, having something to look at and move through together can make difficult conversations feel a little less difficult.

Walk and talk therapy may be a beautiful alternative if traditional office-based therapy hasn’t quite felt like the right fit for you.

As the seasons change, perhaps this is your invitation to step outside — and take care of yourself in a different way.

Two spaces are currently available for fall/winter walk and talk therapy for women

If you’re curious about whether nature-based therapy might be right for you, I’d be happy to connect.

Beauty on the trails ❤️☮️🌲

Is September the time to make space for yourself?

And maybe therapy doesn’t have to look like sitting in an office.

Walk & Talk Therapy combines the benefits of therapeutic conversation with movement and time in nature.

There is something about walking that can help us work through things—literally and metaphorically. Moving our bodies can create movement in our thoughts, helping us process, problem-solve, gain perspective and sometimes find clarity that feels harder to access when we’re sitting still.

And when that movement happens in nature, we add another layer.

The fresh air. The trees. The sounds around us. The changing light. The rhythm of our footsteps.

Nature invites us to slow down, notice, breathe and reconnect with ourselves. It can offer a sense of spaciousness when life feels full, and create opportunities to practice nervous-system regulation in a real-world environment.

For some people, walking side-by-side also feels more natural than sitting face-to-face. Conversation can unfold differently when we’re moving together.

So as you return to routines this fall, consider making your own wellbeing part of the routine.

🍂 Perhaps this is your season to take the next step.

Walk & Talk Therapy is available through Wild Grounded, where mental health care is rooted in nature.

Nature doesn’t just inspire us—it helps regulate us. The intricate patterns woven through leaves and tree branches are called fractals: repeating patterns found throughout the natural world. Research suggests our brains process these patterns with remarkable ease, reducing cognitive effort and promoting a sense of calm.
This may be one reason why spending time in nature feels so restorative.

❤️Take a walk.
🌲Notice the patterns.
☮️Let nature support your mind, body, and spirit.

Friday was an unexpected experience for me. I was lucky enough to find two incredible business women who love mornings as much as me 🌅 💗🌲☮️👍@arborvida_ and @woodland.society4 met me at 4:30am @wildgroundedretreats to set out on an unknown adventure. We booked a guided solar paddle canoe ride with Matt @mattblasky We had the privilege of exploring the river with an exceptional guide whose passion for nature shines through in everything he does. He’s know this section of river since a child taught by his father. His professionalism, commitment to safety, and deep respect for the environment made the experience both relaxing and inspiring. Navigating in a solar-powered canoe that he designed and built himself, he shared an incredible wealth of knowledge about the river, its ecosystem, the birds overhead, and the many creatures that call this place home. It was clear that this is more than a business for him—it’s a genuine commitment to conservation, education, and helping others connect with nature. If you’re looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience on the water and connecting with nature, I highly recommend spending time with him. #naturebasedtherapy taken in Lapasse, Ontario, canada by @wildgrounded

Absolutely gorgeous experiences this past week on the trails and @wildgrounded ❤️☮️🌲Baby turtles? 🐢Totem animal (fox 🦊) Trilliums? Migrating bird magic?Apple and strawberry Blossoms??? Yes. Yes. Yes. Why do we see tiny painted turtles this time of year? They instinctually wait the winter out and hatch this week. Preservation? Perseverance? Patience? So much to learn from nature. Thank you. I love you. by @wildgrounded
