A perfect “Day 1” to my Britain-by-Kayak expedition. Thank you to everybody who came to wave me off. Family and friends, some of whom I haven’t seen for decades! Breakfast served at the @rnsyc.lowestoft yacht club (thank you to them!) and then an emotional good-bye. A flotilla of Sea Kayaks escorts me for the first few miles. Then I’m on my own, slipping past the Suffolk coast: Southwold, Dunwich, Thorpeness and my destination for day one, Aldeburgh with 38km done. (I’d forgotten how pretty it is here!) I was met by members of Slaughden Sailing Club who hosted me for my first night. Fish and chips for tea and everything is good so thank you to everybody for your amazing support. #goosejuiceadventures #reedchillcheater #slaughdensailingclub #royalnorfolkandsuffolkyachtclub #britainbykayak

So, what will I be eating on my Britain-by-Kayak adventure? I initially thought about going keto, but I changed my mind.

Let’s just say tuna, lentils, and oats are going to be my best friends on this journey. Biggest risk… under-fuelling! I’ll be supplementing, too: Vit C, D, Magnesium and complete greens.#reedchillcheater #seakayaking #aroundbritainbypaddle #adventurepaddler #seakayakuk

Preparing physically for this trip didn’t go exactly to plan.

I started from a decent base. A lot of kayaking earlier in the year, then a cycling trip through France and Spain after retiring last August. I came back feeling fit and ready to build on that.

But when I tried to ramp things up, I actually went the wrong way. Fatigue kicked in, and by the end of November I had to stop and reset.

That turned out to be a good thing.

Because I realised I’m not training for a race, I’m training to make it to the start.

And for something like this, it’s less about peak fitness and more about durability.

So the focus shifted. More core work, bodyweight training, Pilates, building strength where I need it most (especially the lower back), which still gets aggravated and locks-up. Durability means reducing injury but also recovering quicker when it does happen. #reedchillcheater #seakayaking #movemberuk #surfersagainstsewage #adventure

Absolute show stopping hair for one of my gorgeous clients.

❄️ Beautiful platinum is a stand out colour.
❄️Hair this blonde requires root touch ups every 5-8 wks . Any longer and it is more of a colour correction apt.
❄️A colour correcting shampoo to be used every 2-3 shampoos to keep the colour fresh.
❄️Quality products and reduced heat on mids and ends will help preserve the condition and the colour.
❄️Weekly hair masks will help nourish the hair keeping it healthy.

Last Friday, Rocket Fuel found its first audience at our private screening hosted at @cinemacitynrw

I am lost for words at how relieved, humbled and flattered I am by its reception. It has been such an amazing adventure and I’m so glad everyone involved got a chance to celebrate together before we head off to festivals.

Thank you everyone!!!
