🎃OCTOBER COMIC MARATHON OF 2026 DAY 7🎃

FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH: THE NIGHTMARE WARRIORS #4

I love how much the deadites are present here compared to the first series. There’s also a robot possessed by Freddy that looks like a decepticon from Transformers which was a little too far from an Elm Street, Friday The 13th, and Evil Dead vibe to me but still entertaining. Also some of the main characters with powers is giving off more of an X-Men vibe than how they were presented in their respected slasher movies. Either way Krueger is president and this is so fuckin extreme hahaha! 4 psychic abilities out of 5! How the hell is this wild story going to conclude in the next two issues?!

Two weeks out from @baltimorecomiccon and I’ve finally shaken the cold I brought home! You know it was a great show when even getting sick couldn’t spoil the memories.

Huge thanks to Marc and Shelly Nathan for 27 years of putting COMICS front and center—and bringing together fans who read, collect and obsess over these stories right along with us. Amazing conversations. Even better questions at my Q&A sketch panel. And more than a few deep cut books to be autographed and buckslip sketch requests.

Congratz and many thanks to Peter for his generosity in bidding up my Wonder Woman illo to benefit the @heroinitiative!

Last but certainly not least—always a treat catching up with legends @walter.simonson.5, Kevin Nowlan, @mouseguard, @sdunbier, Colleen Doran and company—and squeezing in as many sketches as the nights permitted. Not many chances to talk about comic book lettering over dinner. Knew more than a little as I’ve played around with an Ames lettering guide before but learned all about how the Leroy lettering tool set the standard for EC Comics back in the day!

Big congrats to our own Editor-in-Chief @mariejavins on a mammoth haul of Ringo Awards for an incredible run of books across every format and imprint including a best comic victory for Absolute Batman written by @ssnyder1835.

Also:

Max Faraday in the wild!

A rare Dead Samurai autograph request!

And after nearly 40 years in the biz…my first-ever Usagi Yojimbo sketch 💙

Thanks again Baltimore! ❤️

🎃OCTOBER COMIC MARATHON OF 2026 DAY 5🎃

FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH: THE NIGHTMARE WARRIORS #2

Oof! Going down hill quite a bit. Tony Stark and/or Jason X looking technology being used to read the Necronomicon and bring back Freddy Krueger as a normal looking human?! Dr. Neil from A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors looking like he’s sleeping with an entire fraternity of young women?! Super fuckin weird and why is the art taking a dip or bringing is sexual art for no reason at all? 2.5 mechanical hands out of 5. Jason in the constant daylight out in public in a train station or neighborhood doesn’t sit well with me either. The first series was a perfect transition as a sequel to the film Freddy Vs. Jason but this issue is way too outlandish. At least we got the Dream Master, Dream Child, and Tommy Jarvis all on a team with Ash!

🎃OCTOBER COMIC MARATHON OF 2026 DAY 4🎃

FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH: THE NIGHTMARE WARRIORS #1

Picks up almost immediately after the events of the first Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash comic series! 🤯
I know that the first series was derived from the script of what was supposed to be the sequel film to Freddy Vs. Jason but I’m not sure if The Nightmare Warriors was. 🤔
This first issue itself was soooooo bloody good! Seeing Jason within winter time without a mask surrounded by snow in Crystal Lake gutting suits seeking him and the Necronomicon was a spectacle I never thought I would ever see. He does obtain his mask once more at the end of the fight and he looks the best and beastiest he ever has in it! His zombified mouth is now exposed due to Ash shooting Jason at point blank range with his broomstick in the last series. Jason Voorhees truly shined here and deserved every second of it. 4 hockey masks out of 5! Ash trying to live a lifestyle like that of a character from King Of The Hill and what I’m assuming are government officials knowing of Freddy, Jason, and the book of the dead are all things that don’t 100% sit well with me but let’s see where these go anyways!

Been collecting Kevin Nowlan’s work for many years. Part of that is collecting his rough sketches- page layouts and character studies. Wanted to share some of it with you guys. I am lucky enough to call him a good friend and I think we need to celebrate his work more. What’s your favorite from this bunch?

As a fan, this will be one of those moments I'll be talking about for a long time.

I had the opportunity again this year to purchase the Jim Lee Experience package at @baltimorecomiccon . It's a pretty standard event: a short meet and greet with Jim, a few signatures, a photo, and a signed print. But Jim has the uncanny ability to make the ordinary extraordinary.

This year, for the first time ever, I chose to cosplay at a con. And I went with the titular character from one of my favorite stories: Jim's Divine Right: The Adventures Of Max Faraday! The costume was complete with the oversized hat, pizza box, and huge can of Whak Cola!

Within seconds of coming up to the signing table, Jim had a smile on his face and his phone ready to take some pictures. We had a great exchange that seemed like forever, and he signed my items. I brought the color guide to the comic page I based the costume on, a Resident Evil autograph card, and the custom pizza box. Jim even snuck a little pizza slice remarque in there!

Unknown to me at the time, because I was facing my camera, Jim had a little fun in the background with the Whak Cola!

A truly memorable moment and a great reminder of why I love this hobby of WildStorm so much! Thank you @jimlee for being you and for creating a universe with lifetimes worth of characters and stories to enjoy!

WildStorm Forever!
