breaking world records with my friend Joe 😗✌🏼

had the bestest time singing at Radio City for 7 nights- being able to hear his music every night and discovering layers for each piece was so exciting. I’m so grateful for the experience and to have met such beautiful people!!🫶🏼

Where have I been for the past 2 weeks? It’s been all Hisaishi all the time… Such an honor to get to be in the choir for his 7-night residency at Radio City Music Hall! It was back to back to back with rehearsals and performances, and now that it’s over I don’t know what to do with myself 😅

So honored to get to perform Sins & Grace with @mastervoicesny earlier this week! This combination of the Faure Requiem (one my favorite choral works ever) and Seven: A Cycle of Sins (newly commissioned from 7 contemporary composers) was the most artistically fulfilling concert I’ve done in my entire time with the choir (almost 10 years! 😮). Oh, it was a challenge all right, and don’t get me wrong I did plenty of whining along the way about how damn hard it was, but I feel like as a choir we got to shine in a way we don’t always do… though there were soloists and a big honking organ, it was ultimately a choir concert, and we somehow pulled it all off despite having not one but two rehearsals snowed out by “once in a century” storms.

Also, @jackala28 and I went out for a celebratory drink after and just happened to run into Maestro @tedsperling and composers @hedtearne and @_michaelabels!!! Lucky us 😁😁😁

Super gorgeous pro photos of the chorus by Erin Baiano. Y’all know which ones I’m talking about 📸

And now a few scattershot quotes from the sins based on what comes to my memory first…

Gluttony: Just 2 more treats (two!) / Just 5 more shows (five!)
Vanity: what profit hath a man?
Envy: But they don’t go to JULLIARD
Greed: To the chief justice at lunch
Sloth: Technofeudalist insanity!
Lust: Uh…
Wrath: What side does God take? Mine! Mine! Always!

One thing about me is that I love to be BOOKED UP ON A SATURDAY NIGHT! Right after Phoebe’s show I went over to Reggaeton Rave in Brooklyn and that shit was AMAZING. I absolutely loved the fusion of Latin and EDM music. I will definitely be going back.

Wow this was almost 5 years ago, maybe a time when I started the dream of singing? 😅 Don’t judge my 8am, post-travel singing please. What’s a better way to spend thanksgiving eve than digging through old memories… always grateful for being able to make music (esp with friends, on tour, giving workshop in a high school! And my friends, yes this is where my personalized sweater came from 🫡) 🎶: @jessiej “Mama Knows Best” arr. @lukeacapella

Last month, I had the honor of singing in THREE SOLD OUT SHOWS at Madison Square Garden. I was even a double octet soloist for the beginning of Totoro which you can hear in the slide one video. Huge shoutout to @neva1diva who screamed my name from the audience as I was walking on stage the first night of our concerts. You made me feel like an absolute🌟 STAR 🌟

This is a memory, a performance, a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget 🥹🤩🥰
