LUNA LUNA: FORGOTTEN FANTASY 🎡🎟️🎨🌟

3-14-25

@lunaluna @theshedny

—

Been wanting to post this for SO long. Well here it is. The LUNA LUNA post!!!! WOW WOW WOW.

The only thing that I can tell people about this experience is this:

“It made me feel like a child again.”

Yes. That childlike wonder. Awe. Curiosity. Amazement. Belief in the endless possibilities through art. A whole new world of imagination and creativity. That limitless inspiration to make and create. That life can be full of fantasy and adventure.

Stepping into The Shed to witness such a HISTORICAL art show was incredible. From its first debut in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany, to being forgotten and sitting in shipping containers for over 30 years in Texas, to being discovered and acquired by DRAKE and his company in 2022, to being restored piece by piece without instructions for over a year, to finally opening in LA in 2023, and making its way to NYC in 2024-2025 🗽🔥

The World’s First Art Amusement Park. Created and curated by artist André Heller who invited 30+ artists & visionaries to craft an artistic fair that had never been done. Prominent artists like Salvador Dalí, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Sonia Delaunay, Kenny Scharf, David Hockney, and more.

I had been following this project since I first heard it was discovered and being restored in 2022. When it finally came to NYC, I waited a little too long to go see it in-person. Until it’s FINAL weekend. Also got there late in the evening before closing hours. But I managed to invite my friend @tency.mx and we had a GREAT time exploring for about 90 mins. Wish we went earlier because you can spend a long time there!!!! Especially with the immersive attractions that you can enter inside. Sadly we didn’t get to experience those, but it’ll definitely be first priority if Luna Luna ever returns back to NYC 🙏🏼

Please enjoy these pictures and videos that don’t fully do it justice. But they are treasured moments!!! 📸

Greatness is a process. @planes

It always will be. That process is not always the same for everyone. You can’t always try to fit everyone into that same process, that same bubble, and that same path. We all deal with life and the challenges thrown at us.

But I know for a fact. That as a kid from the projects in NYC, I WILL make it out and then some. My process… my greatness is nowhere near over. Mark my words.

Next Monday & Tuesday, I am making my Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Center debut!!! 🔥

We have been hard at work to put together this program featuring Gabriel Fauré’s REQUIEM in D MINOR alongside a world premiere of “SEVEN - A Cycle of Sins” which includes all new commissions by SEVEN top composers, each with their own unique and expressive take on the Seven Deadly Sins.

All performed by @mastervoicesny Chorus & @oslmusic under the direction of Ted Sperling with featured soloists @justinmichaelaustin & @mikaelabennett_ 🎶

Plus the RARELY heard Alice Tully Hall pipe organ!

This will be a very interesting program!!! My FIRST time performing the beautiful masterwork by the French composer. In this Mass for the Dead, Fauré decides to focus on the true meaning of the Latin word “requiem” which means rest - writing music that does not dramatically fear death, but rather embraces and calmly accepts the eternal rest. He even called this work the “Lullaby of Death” and chose pieces that signify peace, excluding the pieces that highlight wrath and chaos. He wanted the audience and performers alike to understand the blissful solace that can come with death, instead of punishment and judgment. As a church organist in Paris, he wanted to offer a different take on funeral music, allowing grief to be gently comforted. 🙏🏼⚰️🎶

After the Requiem, we will premiere “SEVEN - A Cycle of Sins” which features an incredible team of composers including Jason Robert Brown, Michael Abels, William C. Banfield & Michael R. Jackson, Heather Christian, Will Aronson & Dolan Morgan, Gregory Spears, and Ted Hearne.

These are all very talented and award-nominated & winning composers & lyricists. Between them, they have SEVEN Tony Awards, TWO Pulitzer Prizes, a MacArthur “Genius” Grant, a NAACP Image Award, a President’s Call to Service Award, an International Opera Award nomination, SIX Grammy nominations, and Two Emmy nominations. Wow!!!!! 🏆🎼

Watch the video (Slide 4) to see ALL the amazing productions these composers/lyricists have been involved in!

Two nights only! Monday, March 23rd & Tuesday, March 24th @ 7:30 pm

“Sweet Smell of Success” 🔥📰💼

11-21-25
11-22-25 (twice!)

3 weeks ago to the day, I had an unbelievably AMAZING time performing in “Sweet Smell of Success” by Craig Carnelia & Marvin Hamlisch with @mastervoicesny Chorus!!!!! 🙌🏼

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. 3 shows at Rose Hall in @jazzdotorg under the visionary direction of @tedsperling 🎶

With a cast of ALL-STARS including @lizzymcalpine @rauleesparza @noahjrkts @ali.louis @alinemayagoitia !!!!!! ⭐️🔥🔥🔥

Shoutout to ALL the dancers, supporting cast, the Jazz Band, and the dedicated ensemble members who were selected from our Chorus. Great job!!! The costume department, the lighting designers, the sound team, the choreographer, the stage designers, and everyone else in between who made these shows highly engaging, highly professional, and highly polished to the level of a Broadway show.

Even my friend @kelemanj said this felt like watching a Broadway production!!! 🎭

OH and of course, the MasterVoices Chorus of 150+ singers that I so love singing with. We really immersed ourselves into this show and memorized all the music!!! That way we could actually act (yes act!) during the show in all of our boxes. Not only did we get to style our outfits to fit the 1950s era of New York City, but we also had the chance to act different scenes/activities!

There were people at the opera, baseball game, hair salon, movie theaters, on the subway, a family dinner, listening to the radio, watching TV, at the club, playing cards, on a double date, and more. I was on a double date and it was really cool to interact with my scene partners and then break into song at the sudden moment 🍽️🍷

I really enjoyed getting to see the Broadway LEGEND Raúl Esparza do his THING in terms of acting & singing!!! The craziest part is that I first knew of him from his role as ADA Barba on Law & Order: SVU that I would watch with my family. It was equally really cool to see famous indie pop/folk singer Lizzy McAlpine do her thing as a rising Broadway star!!! While I am still new to her music, all my friends LOVE her.

Noah’s voice is so smooth. Ali’s voice is so clear and grounded. Aline’s jazzy voice captivated!!!

LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING ⚔️🔥

2-27-25
3-1-25 (twice)
3-2-25

Longggggg overdue post. But still trying to catch up!!! An INCREDIBLE one I never officially shared.

Performing the ENTIRE @lordoftherings The Return of the King film in @mastervoicesny Chorus with @oslmusic & @bychorus as part of @bowerypresents @lotrconcerts at @radiocitymusichall under the direction of Maestro Ludwig Wicki 🙌🏼🔥🎶

3 YEARS in a ROW!!!! I completed the TRILOGY!!! Ending with the LONGEST film in the franchise - 3 hrs & 21 mins 🤯

What an unbelievable conclusion to these physical, mental, vocal FEATS of concerts. 5 shows!!!! I performed in four of them. But doing TWO nearly 4 HOUR shows (with intermission) back to back on Saturday, then doing an afternoon show on Sunday was a brutal test of focus, commitment, musicianship, and discipline. 🫡

Thank you MasterVoices!!!! Always. That makes my 4th time performing at the legendary, historic, enormous, and grand Radio City Music Hall. Feels like a dream every time I step on that stage 🙏🏼❤️

A huge shoutout to the DIEHARD fans of this epic Lord of the Rings universe that came back every year and SOLD OUT every single show!!!! Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the emotions, and the amazing applause you gave us every night. Staying until almost midnight to hear us shine as the credits roll 👏🏼

The most gorgeous film scores ever composed by @howard_shore_official - it was an honor to hear the beautiful orchestral playing by Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the luscious solo singing of @kaitlyn_lusk - these were musical experiences that I will talk about forever.

Thank you to my longtime friend @tency.mx for coming through to support AND to experience Lord of the Rings for the FIRST time in the BEST way ever. She had an amazing view!!! 📸

Shoutout to my MasterVoices friend Tony for also coming through to experience the film in audience! So great to run into you at our last show!!!

also enjoy that last video (not mine 👀)
