You have a choice to improve your health & it’s right here in your community.

Local: Food grown within a close geographic range, often within 100 miles or less. It prioritizes freshness, reduces transportation emissions, and supports nearby farmers.

Organic: Food grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It ensures environmentally responsible farming practices.

So many benefits!
Let’s talk about the health benefits

Produce grown locally and organically is often harvested at peak ripeness. This means:

Higher nutrient content compared to conventional produce, which is picked early to survive long transport.

Shorter transit times preserve vitamins and antioxidants that degrade during storage.

Local organic produce tastes better because it’s fresher. Fruits and vegetables grown nearby don’t endure days—or weeks—of shipping.

Instead:
They are often harvested from local SETX farms within 24-48 hours of delivery.

Flavors are more vibrant because growers prioritize taste over transport durability.

By choosing local organic produce from The Artisan Farmers Market, you reduce your exposure to fruits and vegetables that may carry residues from dozens of synthetic pesticides.

Organic growing practices do not permit the use of PFAS or other synthetic pesticides helping lower your risk of exposure.
When you receive your fresh harvest delivery, you can feel confident knowing your produce was grown without synthetic pesticides

At the Artisan Farmers Market we are making the choice to live healthier, easier for everyone.

We didn’t think Maitake season could get any better until Alexis Nikole Nelson herself visited! Nelson, aka Black Forager, is an award-winning forager, outdoor educator, and James Beard Award winner who has been educating the internet about foraging and cooking wild food (often with a song or dance to go along) since 2020. Yesterday, we were honored to cohost an evening with Alexis Nicole Nelson, where she shared a wide range of stories and insights, from her childhood spent foraging wild foods with her mom to the importance of being in relationship with plants, and a speed round of the audience favorite, “is it poison or is it a snack,” replete with a live rendition of the song and dance. She was even more inspiring, insightful, and wildly funny than she is on the screen. Thank you, @blackforager, for a delightful visit.

🍂 Our final farm-to-table dinner of the season is October 10, and we are so excited to welcome back our friend Chef Will Brinkerhoff. Will is a soil scientist and an endlessly creative seasonal chef, and he'll be turning the best of the local Fall harvest (think: squash, sweet peppers, just-picked greens, late-season roots) into an unforgettable multi-course dinner. We begin with a sunset farm tour, then settle in at the table with live music from Jacob Yancho.

Swipe through for highlights from Will's dinners at the farm over the seasons.

October 10 • $145/seat • Seats are limited

Shhhh… TOP SECRET

Work in Progress…

Farm → Locker → Table

We’re working on something that could change the way you experience LOCAL 24/7.

A new era of local shopping is coming—and we’re not interested in doing anything ordinary. At The Artisan Farmers Market, we’re blazing the trail for the future of local, creating new ways to connect growers, makers, and our community with more ease, accessibility, and convenience.

Because ordinary has never really been our thing. 😉

Only EXTRAordinary at AFM. 🌱

film from summer camp arrived bursting with love and light and taking me back to delicate tears streaming down our faces on the lawn with some of the most wonderful people to have graced this world, watching mary oliver billowing in the wind, crickets and critters buzzing in the background, dogs playing and the mules curiously poking their noses over the fence behind the screen. what a gift. thank you will.
