POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

TODAY is the official release of 'Worth Every Nail.' And good reviews are coming in. A special thanks to all the musicians and engineers who worked on this album throughout 2025 into '26, especially the studio band who got a lot of work done in three days, and gave generously of their time.

I first met Chris in the back parking lot of the Sterling Court Apartments in Nashville, around 2013, I'd be walking the dog, and Chris would be feeding the stray cats (which eventually led to him being evicted). Despite hearing many stories about him from my father over the years, I didn't make the connection it was him during our brief, foggy chitchat in the wee hours of the morning.

Not long after that, his face appeared on the Nashville Scene and I of course slapped my forehead. around the same time, he also appeared in the faux found VHS curiosity, 'Trash Humpers.' Within another four or five years, Drag City records was releasing his 4 decades lost album from the House of Cash.

it was a revelation to hear that album- I'd been listening to 'Introspection' since college, when I stole a huge stack of dad's LPs. Interestingly, enough, I got into that album before the copy I had of Kristofferson's 'The Silver Tongued Devil and I." When the song, "The Pilgrim, Chapter 33" came on, and Kris drop's Chris's name, my 20y.o. brain had a big "wait a minute" moment.

How was Nashville ever this cool? What happened to this synergy? I've spent most of my adult life chasing this spirit of creativity and collaboration. Chris is someone who never compromised his convictions and artistic freedom, and true to form, he accepted my pitch to produce a record akin to his wonderful Fred Foster productions from back in the day.

if you haven't listened to the brilliant 'Motor Mouth' yet, you are missing out on an incredible gem to come out of Music City, criminally overlooked.

After a couple of emails back-and-forth and a chat on the phone, Chris began sending dozens and dozens of song demos. The man is the real deal, songs just seem to spill out of him.

Roughly 60 demos were paired down to 16 songs the new album aimed for. (Cont'd in comments)

💥 New from our music issue!

Ultimate homie @dswider talks books w/ shredder @williamtylertn in a new edish of THE GUEST LIST 🎶

“Books and movies are the things I reference the most. MODERN COUNTRY was a concept album about a declining America. It came out in 2016, six months before the election. The book that inspired the energy of that album was THE UNWINDING by George Packer. My album IMPOSSIBLE TRUTH has specific references to Marc Reisner’s CADILLAC DESERT, which is about the history of water in the West.”

Over GOOD MOON weekend we were gifted with the NC Premiere of William Tyler’s film TIME INDEFINITE, a visual album co-directed by Elise Tyler and Aaron Anderson. A companion to his album under the same name, the film weaves together found footage from his family archives into a poetic meditation on memory, decay, and the passage of time.

Catch selections from the film on Psychic Hotline’s YouTube channel and keep your eyes out for more screenings soon.

📸: @tommycoyote_

ON SALE NOW ⭐️ William Tyler at Zebulon on November 27 with special guest Sharada Shashidhar

After crucial stints in Silver Jews and Lambchop, William Tyler emerged at the dawn of the last decade with a sound that drifted between country, classical and folk, with echoes of postmodern experimentation, field recordings and static drifts folded beneath exquisite melodies.
