We are thrilled to welcome Willie Evans Jr. to PorchFest 2026! Willie Evans Jr. is a Jacksonville hip-hop artist, producer, and audiovisual creator whose work connects inventive beats, thoughtful lyricism, and visual storytelling. A member of Asamov, he has toured internationally with the group and with The Perceptionists. His self-produced solo album "Introducin'” earned recognition among Albumism’s best albums of the 2010s, and his pioneering “video-chop” work brings a visual dimension to the art of sampling. Rooted in hip-hop and driven by curiosity, Willie brings decades of experience and a distinctly personal creative voice to PorchFest.

I was aiming to drop this on Paten's Birthday (8/25), but better late than never...

After attending the Little Plates event at @shantytownpub last weekend (big ups @3clopsi and @dillonmaurer !), I felt inspired to dig through the archives and revisit the late great @patenlocke first appearance on the @theshortboxpod

What I forget after all these years is just how entertaining and captivating P was in regular conversation (not including rapping). He was a walking time capsule of Hip-Hop and Duval history, and knew more about records and comic books than I've yet to learn in my lifetime. I wish he was still around to drop more gems

He was the best. Period. 🅿️🔒Forever

Happy birthday, master teacher, PATEN LOCKE. 🅿️🔒

PEABO, I miss you dearly - daily. I have been steering our ship as best I can - but the ride just isn’t the same without you, my brother. The FUNNIEST, MOST TALENTED, DEDICATED and HARDEST TO IMPRESS.

You helped me find my voice, P and I’m forever grateful. I’m doing my damndest to keep the PLATE FULL, please keep helping! 😅

You would be so proud of Asha Bear. As one of her godfathers, I’ll always be there for her, like you were for me. Thank you PATEN LOCKE. 🙏

Pronounced ‘PAY TEN’ - please please please STOP SAYING P’s NAME WRONG he hated that! 😤😅

FULL PLATE ‘til the pinebox! ⚰️

08.25 Happy heavenly birthday to PATEN LOCKE. 🅿️🔒

Our co-founder left us 7 years ago but Paten’s spirit is ALWAYS guiding (and critiquing) us, keeping the spirit alive. To know Paten was to love him, to be inspired by him and to be intimidated by his super-serious passion & dedication to his craft(s). 😤

The Triple Threat P Locke, forever missed, never be another. DON’T MONKEY WITH THE FUNKY. 🙉

Thank you for your service, Paten. We all carry the torch that you kept lit. 🔥

Once again, leaving Little Plates in awe of the talents I saw. Records I’ve never heard, handled in ways I can’t imagine. I wish Paten could have been there in person, but I know he was in spirit.

DJ BASIC! Happy B-BOY DAY in heaven my brother. Before I knew Paten, before I ever made a single song, I was inspired by YOU and your mastery of all elements in Hip hop. 🫡

Chief Rocka Base used to come spin the epic ‘Soul Cypher’ breaking jam in Gainesville when I was in school and we became fast friends. Basic was the first one to play my 1st vinyl on the Skill Center Radio show that the almighty ASAMOV crew hosted, where Paten heard me for the first time - and he dissed me lol.🙏

From the records, to the fashion, to the STYLE, Bud was a true anomaly and repped Duval and Filipino culture to the UTMOST. ‘Playdutshet’ in heaven my Kuya. Love you bro. 🇵🇭🍏

Lemme do you a favor - go to SoundCloud and listen to all his #NeverForgiveAction mixes to liven up your day. Trust. 🤘
