Welp... I’m practicing this joint that I’m doing at Jacksonville PorchFest 2026, Presented by Pearl Square
It's the first song Paten ever recorded over one of my beats. I learned the verses and recorded a cover of it for one of his birthdays. I feel like it's only right to rock this joint over the thing he used to honor past artists over.

After about 10 tries not being able to get through the joint, I thought I'd tell a story about a time P made me mad so I could get through it.

It didn't work.

But here's the story... by @willieev

This video is from my work with JEA Power Pals, helping teach young students about electrical safety in a way they can understand, remember, and enjoy. When children learn how to recognize danger around electricity, cords, outlets, water, and power lines, that lesson can protect them for life. This track is also produced by my brother @willieev featuring his kids! We had so much fun doing this! Special shout out to the kids of @spljaguars

I’ve always believed education hits different when it’s creative. Music gives the message a heartbeat. Performance helps the lesson stay with them. And when the message is about safety, that connection matters even more.

Thank you to @newsfromjea for allowing me to be part of a program that pours into our youth, our schools, and our community. I’m honored anytime I can use my gift to help make important lessons unforgettable.

Quote to add at the end:

“Safety messages should not just be heard — they should be remembered. That’s what I bring to every youth program: energy, culture, creativity, and a connection that helps the lesson live beyond the classroom.”

Today. My granddaddy got a congressional gold medal that was long overdue. He integrated the Marines. I was 4 when he passed and I never got to do anything for him. Today I got to do his opening prayer and closing. Thank you #montfordpointmarines #marinecorps for doing this for my family. Thank you @bishopsnyderhs for letting us use the stage. They say I was just like my grandaddy. Clearly that's a lie because I'm definitely not this cool.

Felt close to him today. Today was awesome. taken in Bishop John J Snyder High School by @willieev
