Year 4/5 ✅

This season didn’t go anywhere near what I imagined 😭. I only competed in 6 meets, and just 3 of them at full approach. There were so many times where I wanted to ask God why, what did I do wrong, or why now. But I was reminded over and over again of the blessings happening right in front of me.

This season I’ve learned to be grateful for every opportunity including the people I met, the ability to compete, and especially everyone who has been supported me along the way. I’m reminded everyday that God’s timing is always greater than my own.

Yesterday, I competed in the final meet of my swimming career. After battling a pretty serious sickness this past month, this meet mentally and physically destroyed me. But in a lot of ways, it reminded me what my swimming career has always been about.

You don’t always win. Things don’t always line up. But the only thing guaranteed if you quit is failure.

Swimming was never the easy path. It wasn’t the sport with the most recognition or spotlight. I chose it because I loved it. I’ll always be proud that I got to live out a childhood dream.

None of it would have been possible without incredible people around me. To my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and everyone who played a role in this journey, thank you. I’m more grateful than I can put into words.

Do the things you love. They’ll bring the right people into your life and open doors you didn’t even know existed.

To the sport that gave me everything, yet taught me that absolutely nothing comes easy, thank you.
