So the joke starts out like this: Three meteorologists walk into a bar…..😂 Bidding farewell to @natebrownsports this afternoon alongside weather peeps @willwwmt and @collin_2199 . I’ve always said the weather department does the heavy lifting! 🤭

@newschannel_3 is losing a good one 😞. @natebrownsports is moving on after a stellar 4 years in W. Michigan. He will be missed

Guess it’s about that time for a life update…

This week will be my last at News Channel 3 and my last in television, as I’ve decided to leave the industry to pursue other opportunities outside of news. I can’t thank West Michigan enough for welcoming me in with open arms and allowing me to chase this dream. I’ve enjoyed each moment along the way -every interview, every game, every story -and will be forever grateful for it all.

I’ve lost count of all the memories I’ve made, but can assure you I’m taking every single one of them with me. Here’s to the next adventure!

LOOK CLOSELY and you’ll see the International Space Station moving across the sky. I grabbed the scene from the NC 3 parking lot late last night. There’s another opportunity to see it tonight from 11:08 to 11:14, moving from W to NE.

A blue moon...isn't blue🤥

But it does come every "once in a blue moon!" That's actually where the saying comes from. The more you know!

What a blue moon actually is: the second full moon to occur in a single calendar month. May will have one on the 31st🌚

To get the newsroom jazzed about the upcoming blue moon @willwwmt brought in some blue moon ice cream and posed the question...what does it actually taste like?

Meet Joan! She now lives in Kalamazoo, but 70 years ago, she lived in Holland and her parents owned the Beach House, a staple of Oval Beach in Saugatuck, where beach goers could rent inner tubes, buy swim suits, and get a burger. The Beach House was destroyed by an F4 tornado on April 3, 1956, the same day an F5 tornado traveled from Hudsonville to Standale, then north of G.R., killing 17 and injuring more than 300. She shares her story with me for a piece that is part of our Storm Ready special program airing Saturday 7:30-8:00 a.m., and Sunday 8:30-9:00 a.m. It will also be on the @newschannel_3 YouTube page. Big thanks to @willwwmt for connecting me with Joan and helping shoot the interview.

TAPING DAY! AKA one of the few times all four of us are together. We recorded our Weather Ready Special early this afternoon. It’s packed with great information! I might be a little biased. 😊 It airs this Saturday AM from 7:30-8:00 (last half hour of our AM newscast) and Sunday AM 8:30-9:00 (last half hour of our AM newscast). #weatheralert @jeffporterwx @willwwmt @collin_2199 @newschannel_3 @ericjamnik

It’s Friday, it’s spring, it’s nice outside, and I have a News Channel 3 cookie from @louies_bakery in Marshall. Life is good! Thx to @willwwmt for bringing the tasty treats from the bakery! Hope your Friday is going well. We’ll be on at 5ish, as soon as the @cbssports @marchmadnessmbb game is over. See ya soon! @newschannel_3

I had a feeling I wouldn’t get much work done this afternoon sharing the office space with these two! Lots to talk about out between Friday and Tuesday’s stormy weather. Thx to @willwwmt for working my shift this evening so I can work on a piece for our weather special airing later this month. @collin_2199 @newschannel_3

UPDATE: Since the Lorna Doones and Coke (aka immunotherapy) ship sailed last December, there hasn’t been much to report on my cancer journey. I’m very thankful for that! The monitoring continues. Today, an MRI. Let the brain/no brain jokes begin! Thx to @willwwmt for filling in for me tonight. 🧠
