Fix the tractor, then run the tractor. It’s a tiny guy but gets the job done and has for a long time. Easiest fix you could ask for, a battery replacement. Looking forward to putting check marks in all the boxes on the to do list here. I’m even going to have my own green house to grow veggies and flowers for the Fall. Such a blessing.

The table is set. 🍯✨ The honey is poured. The tasting cards are ready. And we’re putting the final little touches on our very first Giddy Bee guided honey tasting experience at Windcrest Farm! 🐝

There’s something pretty special about seeing an idea that’s lived in your head finally come to life on the table.

Today we’ll be slowing down, tasting our way through the Southeast, and sharing the incredible stories that honey can tell about plants, place, season, and the bees that made it.

We’ve prepared, tasted, packed, repacked…and probably checked everything one more time than necessary. 😂

Now it’s time.

Wish us luck! 🍯🐝🤞

🍯 Discover the Sweet Story of Southern Honey.

Every jar of honey tells the story of the flowers, seasons, and bees that created it. Join us at Windcrest Farms for a guided tasting experience where you’ll sample six distinctive honeys from across the Southeast while learning how geography, nectar sources, and the bees themselves influence every flavor.

One of the highlights of the experience is a side-by-side tasting of two local wildflower honeys produced just miles apart:
🐝 Windcrest Farms (Union County, NC)
🐝 The Giddy Bee Apiary (Lancaster County, SC)

It’s a rare opportunity to experience how two neighboring regions can produce remarkably different honey.

📍 Windcrest Farms
🗓 Thursday, August 20 | 6:30 PM
🗓 Saturday, August 22 | 10:30 AM

✨ Seats are filling quickly! Registration is through Windcrest Farms, and you can find the registration link in our bio. We hope you’ll join us for this unforgettable tasting experience!

Last night I shared this poem, Own a House, at the Create Space gardening class at @providenceprepschool. I learned about Mary Oliver and received one of her books from @chandiagee, a Create Space alum and one of my biggest cheerleaders.

The second picture is a picture of my cucumber plants. This is my first time growing them and I learned that I needed to put poles near the plant to give them support so they can grow upwards. Yesterday morning when I was watering them, I noticed that their tendrils found the poles I put into the pot and naturally began to wrap themselves around them. I mean...this is magical. Somehow these plants can identify the pole and know how to wrap themselves around it several times.

How are you creating space to get out of your house to observe the magic around us?

Need help doing it? Join Create Space this fall and you'll learn lots of ways to find magic.

Tagging a few alumni who I know will appreciate this reminder. ❤️

This week in Create Space, we got our hands dirty. 🌱

We learned about soil, water, and sunlight — and how starting small (hello, container gardens) is actually the wisest way to begin. Group what belongs together. Let things breathe. Watch what happens.

We each planted our own calendulas in soil from @windcrestnc , guided by the incredible Mary Roberts and @skillpop — and walked away with more than a seedling. We walked away with a little more patience, a little more curiosity, and dirt under our fingernails.

If this sounds interesting to you, I have a summer program open for enrollment! Thanks to Jesse Browns for capturing the experience!! I was too busy planting. #charlotteevents #createspace #charlottewomen

Open house is something I started a few months back to create a space for people to just be together. No expense. No stress. Just people, sun teas, pickles, some wine thrown in for good measure... and even a fennel liquor might show up. Always, there is small dishes of tasty things that people share. Growers talking about growing. Cooks talking about fermentation recipes and sourdough starters. Recent travelers to share their experiences.... somehow we always end up with a strongly high percentage of widowers Is that just our age showing up? No sure. But what I am sure of, is this random group of people that show up... never the same group... always newbies or drifters... share space and leave feeling connected... well at least when they all go I feel connected❤️ Thanks to those that made it today. My heart is full. As is my stomach.
