Had a blast yesterday with the @nyhistoricalcostumers at their Jane Austen picnic. I think this was the first time in a while that anybody recognized immediately what era we were portraying. My favorite moment had to be the accidental capture of @lilredsquirrel and @windedphil being almost IDENTICAL to this 1799 fashion plate. I swear on my life this wasn't planned! 🤣 Thanks to @girl.in.the.city1 for the photo!
Great way to kick off the fall activities!

jaci’s 25th birthday apparently lasted two weeks this year 😝

this was quite literally the most special birthday ever. it started a few days early when isa surprised me with TICKETS TO SEE ARIANA GRANDE!! (slide 8 is my reaction) we had a blast and i cried many times. and then the morning of my actual birthday i woke up to so many messages and calls! i was so overwhelmed with the love! and then i was kidnapped, which was great ((: then the rest of the weekend i was showered with so much love and celebration. i don’t think ive been sung happy birthday more times in my LIFE.
and finally, this last weekend i got to have a lil birthday party back home in nyc to celebrate with more loved ones! i’m so fortunate to have the incredible people i do in my life. they make me feel like the most special woman in the world! here’s to 25! forever grateful for all i have and for what is yet to come! ♡

@basuramusical + @alliancetheatre + the city of Atlanta = owes me NOTHING! My time with everyone that has been a part of this special show has been nothing short of life altering; 2 months that I will carry like a time capsule in my heart forever 🫶🏾

1-4: thank you to the family and friends who traveled near and far to support me by coming to see the show 💖
5-8: thank you Atlanta for being so welcoming and fun; it was so nice feeling closer to home 🍑🇭🇹⚜️
9-10: gonna miss the amazing facility that is the Alliance Theatre (and all the staff/crew)! Truly such a beautiful place to come to work.
11-14: goodbyes are always hard, especially when it's to incredible colleagues + role models 😭 but it's a bit easier when it's more of a hopeful "see you later" 🩷
15: wanted to share this because it's a perfect representation of how lucky I have been to work with the most supportive group of people. Some of you know, I escaped for a weekend to get married (nbd 💀), and my Basura family sent me off with this sweet surprise 🧁🎉🥰

Of course, this post doesn't capture every single person and moment that positively impacted me during my time in Atlanta; but I will carry the memories with me forever.

Sometimes, the old and the new coexist so perfectly. Was at the closing night last night of @basuramusical at the wonderful Alliance Theater. Caught by surprise how emotional I was…not so much because the run is over as there’s a great future ahead I believe but because of the heart of this beautifully crafted show. The story and the mega talented people who tell the story (cast, orchestra, crew, producers) all care so much. Literally could not stop tearing up during most of act 2, as did most of the audience. Special thanks to @alacamoire for bringing me on board to learn what a Paraguayan harp is and to @cynthiameng who led our fearsome and loving group.
And the day before, was in LA at the Pantages to see @phantomopera for which I was in the trenches for some 6000 performances in nyc and had the most amazing experiences one could have in one’s life. Great to see this wonderful show still selling out to a new generation being told also beautifully by a wonderful cast including da man, @sangisaiah and @alexamoster. A falling chandelier and the most romantic music never get old.

@basuramusical closes today, and I’m yelling “HAPPY TRAILS, SO PROUD OF YOU!!” to the band, cast, and crew over the 900 miles between here and Atlanta. I am so grateful to have helped tell this story as the music assistant alongside such a committed, generous, and talented music team led by @alacamoire and @cynthiameng. Basura is about finding joy through the power of music and overcoming the impossible with the help of your community— which mirrored the magic that was made in the theater every day. The Estefans’ music is just so great, it’s been stuck in my head since I left Atlanta a month ago! Meeting the real inspiration for Basura, the @orquestadecateura, and hearing their recycled instruments live was also such a gift. Lots of happy tears were shed during this process— I was so consistently moved watching our Basura community build beauty. Until next time!! 🎻🎹🎷🥁

Thank you to @gloriaestefan, @emily_estefan, @karenzdc, #MichaelGreif, @dramaturglia, and @pattideldancer for endeavoring to tell this powerful story and realizing it in such a resounding and beautiful way. This music and book continually moves me through and through, and I’m grateful to be helping share this story to audiences every night.

To @alacamoire - thank you for everything you have given me and the music dpt. As not only the music supervisor but foremost a PERSON, you are an inspiration—in your example and your artistry. I am grateful to not only be a thoughtful witness to this example but to also actively collaborate with you throughout this process.

And @cynthiameng - thank you for being such an incredible leader. Your immense talent is matched only by a largesse of spirit—kindness, humor, and humanity that makes this experience and orchestra special. Thank you for being a force of good, on and off the piano!

And thank you to @davidwlai for bringing me onto this project - from the first workshop to now. I am grateful for the trust you have given me with this, and you really brought together a special group of people in this orchestra.

#shoutout the basura band and the amazing cast, crew, and creatives that have made this experience a triumph in my life.

I can’t believe my time working on @basuramusical at the @alliancetheatre has come to a close. This experience was everything I could have dreamed of and more. Thank you @davidwlai for reaching out and trusting me to take on this role. I had so much fun with the violin part and it was incredible to be performing on stage.

To @alacamoire , it was such an honor to be able to work with you so closely. Some of my favorite memories of the entire experience were watching you take my iPad and arrange my part in real time. It was thrilling for me to try and play exactly how you envisioned it.

@gloriaestefan and @emily_estefan , the music for this musical is absolutely incredible, and your support as we brought it to life meant so much. I can’t believe I can say I had the privilege of working with the both of you.

@cynthiameng , I can’t thank you enough for being such an amazing music director. You are the glue that holds us all together, and you crush it every single time.

And to the entire band (I know you guys are playing a show RIGHT NOW as I write this), I love you all so much. I could not have asked for a better team. You guys are all so incredibly talented but more importantly, I am so glad we all connected and became true friends.

And to the cast, the rest of the creative team and crew, I am just so grateful for the entire experience. Each of you contributed to making this experience such a warm and loving environment. You all feel like familia to me. Wishing you all an amazing rest of the run. ❤️‍🩹
