Just me n’ my bass 😍 I love an excuse to wear my handmade garments to music gigs 🤓 Soft launching my first attempt at a shawl collar waistcoat in the 1830s (ish and beyond?) style, paired with high waisted “balloon pants” from the women’s section of @zara

Ideally I’d have a black neck stock but that’s my next project.

Needed/wanted a day look for @brightonregencyfestival and wanted to torture myself with making a coat pattern that fits around my waist and lays (not quite) properly over my chest… all while limiting myself to not having a waist seam to stay in the world of the early 1810s and previous decade.

Was very drawn to this 18th century banyan/home dressing gown silhouette from the @lacma who also put out a pattern from an extant garment…. That I needed to adjust a bit for my chest to waist ratio 🥲 I took very few decent pics of the look at Venice Carnival 😑

This was a fairly quick project, since I had to make a few other pieces this past December/January…. maybe someday I’ll fix the collar and hem the bottom 😝
