POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
To kick off the weekend, here's what I consider to be the 3rd generation of Henri Hauser Type 1 (or H1 as it's also called) jig boring and precision measuring machine. I reposted this first image a while ago, belonging to the extremely talented watchmaker Janne Aaltonen @windsormagistus (check his IG out if you haven't yet!!) the main feature of this 3rd generation H1 is that it has a light grey/green color that later charactizes the first series of new M1, i.e. those with the straight lined body (of anybody knows the color codes, do share!). This 3rd gen H1 doesn't have a metal tag on the top of the right hand side x axis, but instead it has a Hauser round logo sticker on the body frame. The most compelling evidence we have that this is indeed the 3rd gen of Hauser H1s comes from the second image. A brochure from 1956 shows the same machine, with similar tag and color (it's definitely not the dark grey of the 2nd generation H1s). (This image comes from an old eBay listing and I don't have info on the seller). By 1958 the M1 straight lined body was released (more info in next post). The last two pictures are of the same machine, but this time taken by another up and coming Finnish watchmaker Jouni Parkkinen @helsinki.watchmaker (check his IG feed, it's great!). But this beautiful Hauser H1 is in the Helsinki watchmaking school. Again, any feedback or corrections of info would be much welcome! Have a great weekend! #horologicaltools #henrishausermillingmachine #henrihauserjigborer #hauserm1 #hauserH1 #machineapointerhauser #uhrmacher #uhrmacherwerkzeug #leherenbohrwek #outilhorloger #Horloger #watchmaker #watchrestoration #toolporn #vintagewatch #manualmachinist #modelmaker #cameramaker #bikemaker #handmadewatches #watchmakerjigborer #jigborer #jigboringmachine #millingmaschine #outillage

Last week's repost was about a really cool rebuild, and we start this week now with another super cool straight out 'build' this time. The extremely talented Finnish watchmaker, silversmith, blacksmith and all around maker of cool things Janne Aaltonen of @windsormagistus has shared his latest creation. A beautiful miniature precision jig borer and milling machine. Here I'm just sharing the icing on the cake of the finished product, however if you go to his IG page you'll see tons of product images. He's scraped the table on this machine, made a spindle, drive system, and dial gauge holders to have repeatable accuracy on this machine. Really great stuff!! And if this isn't enough to get you motivated to go see his page, he's got some other amazing rebuilds and machines... and yes, as I'd that wasn't enough he shares some of his really cool handmade watches to boot too!! Thanks for sharing this Janne! #Repost @windsormagistus • • • • • Self made watchmakers milling machine part three . The milling machine is companied by an 8mm pultra lathe wich I also did some restoration on. . I designed the machine so that i can use it as a jig borer with optical measuring. Since the Keilpart&suhl messtativ has a 28mm precision collet to attach the micrometer, I could attach anything with 28 diameter to this frame, so I decided to make a similar tool setting microscope thar the famous hauser m1 jig borer uses, and since I had some optics from a scrapped soviet toolsetting microscope laying around, it was pretty easy to turn a straight shaft toolsetting microscope. . I also invented a super simple attachment to fix anything with a 8mm WW type collet tail to the small Rotary table. #independentwatchmaking #watchmaking #nocnc #handmade #diy #machining #schaublin102vm #machinemaking #horologicaltools #jigboringmachine #jigborer #schaublin #manualmachinist #toolporn #machineporn #opticaljigborer #measuringscope #measuringmicroscope #wotd #watchrepair #watchrestoration

Look at this absolutely beautiful Henri Hauser M1 jig borer milling machine. @windsormagistus was extremely kind in sneaking a picture of this at his watchmaking school... here you see it with its centering scope realdy to be used for drilling plate holes. Where do we have this type of machine, but non other than in a Finnish watchmaking school! Really great to see this machine being used daily to train future excellent professionals #horologicaltools #henrihauserjigborer #henrihauserm1 #finnishwatchmaking #henrihauser #jigborer #millingmachine #uhrmacher #uhrmacherwekzeug #uhrmacherfraesmachine #jigbote #swiss #watchmaking #toolporn #wotd #watches

A massive Schaublin 102VM recently and lovingly restored by @windsormagistus. Its precision allows it to be used with the same exactness that you would a Schaublin 70. While a large lathe, and for small repair workshop of a watchmaker less common, it's a piece that is guaranteed to be in any serious manufacture workshop. Windsormagustus seems to be that path already! Anybody use this regularly instead of a smaller 70? #horologicaltools #horology #watchmakerlathe #watchmaker #uhrmacherwekzeug #uhrmacher #uhrmacherdrehbank #drehbank #lathe #toolporn #schaublin102 #schaublin #horloger #horlogerie
