Bodegas Borsao Monte Oton Garnacha 2007, Spain

This is a very nice 13 year old Garnacha from Spain.

Showing black fruits with wood, chocolates, coffee, vanilla, licorice, earth, green vegetables, beef jerky, spices and peppercorn.

Dry on the palate with with medium acidity.

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and cherries.

Not very complex on the nose, but very nice on the palate.

100% Garnacha grapes.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

NSO Wines California Red Wine 2017, California

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, sweet cherries, wood, chocolates, tobacco, light alcohol, mocha, leather, spices and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, black cherries, blueberries, wood, vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, spices, chocolates, tobacco, cola, coffee and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine tannins and raspberries.

This is a very enjoyable wine from California. Simple and tasty. Easy drinking with a nice mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and good for parties. The tangy finish makes it interesting. Has a screw top which is very convenient to take to a picnic.

This is actually 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This Single Vineyard is a good quality Cab.

I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

I have been asked a handful of times why I stopped posting pictures of myself on this account. Well, that is because about a year ago a drastic change in my life happened. After getting a last-minute haircut, for an event I was going to, it exposed that I was losing my hair in patches. Within about 45 days, most of my hair was gone. After a couple of appointments of trying to figure out what was going on, I was told that I have Alopecia Totalis. In other words, total hair loss. However, I have managed to keep a good chunk of my facial hair and eyebrows. For now, anyways.

I know there are many people that have lost their hair for much worse reasons than I have, so I consider myself fortunate, given the reason I lost mine. However, the ego and confidence hit I experienced was much larger than I would have ever imagined. I am not a crier, but as it was coming out in clumps, I may have shed some tears.

I went into hiding. It was winter, so I wore a stocking hat as much as I could. I even went to a fundraising dinner and kept my hat on the whole evening. I was embarrassed to go to work or be out in public. I struggled looking in the mirror; wondering who the stranger was that I saw before me.

During the time this was all happening to me and I was struggling, @lovestorywines sent me a bottle of their Pinot, encouraging me to “tell my story”. I sat on this bottle much longer than I should have, not knowing the story I wanted to tell. Now, here I am a year after losing my hair and although I still struggle with the loss, I realize now that my love story began the day I fell in love with the stranger in the mirror.

@allisonuncorked hosted a Friendsgiving and for wine had @lovejadot for the event. I fell in love with their Bourgogne Chardonnay. It’s a nice dry chardonnay that’s not too oaky and has hints of pineapple, apple, and pear. It’s perfect with some seafood or chicken- or just to enjoy on a lovely afternoon. I was lucky enough to bring some home that day, and we recently opened up a bottle and I enjoyed it just as much. The average cost of the wine is $15 too! 💯 #WhiteWineEmoji
