Tis the season! 🎄🎁 This year, one of our students has started a holiday toy drive focused on making play accessible to ALL! We’re adding adaptive switches to toys to make them accessible for children with disabilities. For some children, making their toys dance, move, or sing can be extra difficult when it requires pressing tiny buttons, squeezing tightly, or using a lot of force. With an adaptive switch, we can make those same toys much easier to activate! Let’s help every child play this holiday season!! Our Amazon wishlist is linked in our Bio (check out the linktree!) for anyone who would like to contribute. We are so grateful for your support in help holiday wishes come true! ❤️🎄

Our current need is more SWITCHES! 🎛️

Interested in Occupational Therapy?

Lots of psychology students choose this career, but what does it entail? Wingate psych alum Olivia Thomas explains the profession.

How did a WU Psychology degree prepare Olivia for her doctoral program? The research she conducted as an undergraduate student set her up for success. Working with mentors like Dr. Matt Davis helped her think critically and conduct research with compassion and integrity. Now, she’s ready for the larger scale research projects that come with getting an OTD degree.

In her undergraduate years, courses like Cognitive Psychology, Learning and Memory, and Sensation and Perception gave her a solid foundation to understand neuroscience.

The Wingate community, the connections she made, and the resources offered by the university were the main factors in convincing Olivia to continue her education here at Wingate.
