I made a little interactive book tracker for October, and I am so pleased with how this one came out! The ghost slides along the path, so every time you finish a book, you move her up to the next stop. Book one, book two, book three or however many you're aiming to read in a month. And, I will say that it's so satisfying to actually move her.⁠ ⁠ The making of this spread was simpler than it looks. I designed the polka dot pattern in Illustrator and printed that off along with a coordinating pink sheet, then used my gyro cutter to cut the curved path right into the page. The ghost is attached to a little piece of cardstock folded into a Z shape, which is what lets her sit up and slide along. Then I decorated the right side, and that was it!⁠ ⁠ Products used: Boutique Halloween Hallows journaling sticker kit, individual Halloween ghost stickers.

I saw this dutch door journaling edge trend going around and thought I would finally give it a go. The usual version uses dried or pressed flowers, and I did not have a single one on hand, so I improvised and used stickers instead, flipping them so they show through on both sides of the edge and still line up whichever way it folds. And then I added glitter, because why not?⁠ ⁠ It came out so pretty and it barely took any time, which is my favourite kind of project. So my camera roll has completely gotten away from me. Rides, walks, photos of Mickey and special moments with hubby, and every single one of them from half of May onward is sitting there waiting to go into my memory planner.⁠ ⁠ Which is why these Lemon Grove spreads are about as simple as I can possibly make them. Photos, a frame, a date, a couple of stickers, done. Because the more complicated I try to get, the longer it takes, and then I do one page and get distracted, and suddenly it is three weeks later and I have added forty more photos to the pile. So simple it is right now!⁠ ⁠ And you know what, I still do love these layouts even if they don't have all of the extra pretty details that I would like to include. The photos get to be the whole thing, and the lemons and the bougainvillea do the rest.⁠ ⁠ So here's a flip through of a few pages I was able to create during the first weekend of August with friends. It was such a blast!

Happy Fourth of July to all my American friends! 🇺🇸⁠ ⁠ I had a lot of fun with this journaling page and made it a little differently than usual. The design came first, and the functional part almost felt like a bonus after. I used a hexagon hole punch on some pretty blue watercolour cardstock that I've been wanting to use for a while and just kept going until the whole page felt like it had that deep-summer-lake energy I was after.⁠ ⁠ Our Independence Day Weekend journaling sticker kit design feels like a long weekend at the lake, with fireworks and Independence Day celebrations. Hydrangeas and red roses and a lobster dinner, as well as that striped bow that is VERY pretty and somehow also very cottage-and-water-and-late-afternoon. ⁠ ⁠ I'm using this as a daily happy moments page, which means it's more visual than functional, and that allows me to be a little more creative. Sometimes the page just wants to be pretty, and the happy moments will catch up.⁠ ⁠ Wishing you all a celebratory weekend!

Happy Canada Day from Edmonton, where the plan today is absolutely packed, and I love it!!!!!⁠ ⁠ Pancake breakfast to start, then a walk down Whyte Ave with hubby, the water spray park at the Leg grounds (which I will of course walk through myself), lunch on a patio somewhere, and then the Riverhawks game tonight with fireworks after with my brother and his family. The whole city feels like it woke up in a good mood, and I am very here for it.⁠ ⁠ I planned this week using our nostalgic Canada Day in July journaling scene sticker kit, and the palette is this bright cherry red and teal and warm gold that somehow captures exactly what July 1st in this city looks like to me. The fireworks on these pages are going to feel very satisfying once I'm sitting in the stands tonight!⁠ ⁠ Fingers crossed the weather cooperates. The clouds are doing something ambiguous right now, and I'm choosing to interpret that as fine.

My July Currently Loving dashboard is done, and I'm genuinely so excited about what I'm hoping goes into those boxes this month!⁠ ⁠ I had this idea to print our Watercolour Splashes Printable Papers, remove the background, and send them straight to my Silhouette, and the whole thing came together so much faster than I expected. That explosion of colour under everything, all those oranges and pinks bleeding into teal and blue, that's the vibe I'm going for for July. Spray parks, ice cream shack finds, woodland walks, scooter rides around the neighbourhood, all of it. The rainbow foiled butterfly clusters scattered across the page catch the light in a way that feels very much like a summer afternoon should (assuming we don't get another four weeks of rain!).⁠ ⁠ The Currently Loving sticker anchoring the bottom is one of our recent new releases, and I LOVE the big font. ⁠ ⁠ July, please be good. I have a whole dashboard ready for you!!!!⁠ ⁠

Dutch door pages this week, which felt like a great idea right up until it wasn't, and then sort of was again by the end.⁠ ⁠ We're on day ten or eleven of grey skies and rain. I've genuinely lost count, and at some point, my journal stopped being a record of the week and started being the reason I was okay with the week. So I pulled out our Petals in the Conservatory sticker kit and just went for something more creative than I've been doing lately. Those aqua hydrangeas and layered blush bouquets against the pages look really pretty, and there's a softness to this kit that made the whole spread feel like it existed somewhere warmer than here because it's so cold for June!⁠ ⁠ Did it turn out how I planned? Nope. There was a whole vision I had. Really! The vision did not survive contact with the actual page. But I kept what I created anyway, because scrapping a layout just because it didn't match the one in my head is its own kind of loss, and the one on the page has its own thing going on that my original vision didn't.⁠ ⁠ Curious what you do when something doesn't come together the way you hoped. Do you scrap it and start fresh, or just let it be what it is?⁠

Here's my June gratitude spread and the practice I keep coming back to every month: three happy moments from each day, written down the following day.⁠ ⁠ It sounds easy, and some days it genuinely is: a scooter ride around our neighbourhood, Mickey doing something cute, a walk that went longer than planned. But other days, the day has taken a turn, and I'm sitting there the next morning trying to think of three things that weren't terrible, and that's fine, too. Getting outside counts. It always counts, so thank goodness we're in spring now, right?! 😉⁠ ⁠ I wanted this month's pages to feel like the kind of summer I'm actually after this June: teal and coral and those layered coastal cliffs, a windswept pine perched on top so you really FEEL the design. I think our Pacific Daydream journaling sticker kit is great at making the sticker scenes feel both expansive and a little quiet at the same time, which ends up being exactly right for a gratitude spread where the whole point is to slow down enough to notice something....hopefully more good things in your day than not of course.⁠ ⁠ Wishing you all a happy June!

Pulling this planner spread back out because I just figured out what I want to do with it. Originally, this was a planner spread from last year, using the In Bloom kit, where I got a little experimental. Acrylic paint straight onto the page, which felt risky right up until it didn't. Then I took a sheet of paper, dropped it into an embossing folder, ran it through my Cuttlebug, and the whole lattice pattern punched right into the paper. Manual scrap paper. Slightly chaotic process. Very satisfying.⁠ ⁠ The black paint did something I wasn't expecting. Pulled all the colour in the stickers forward. That little truck full of flowers is sitting on the page like it owns the place.⁠ ⁠ Here's the actual reason I'm resharing, though. I'm using this spread as one of the dashboard pages in my memory planner. It's too good to just sit in a finished planner I'm not opening anymore, and the colours fit the whole vibe of what I'm building this week.⁠ ⁠ The memory planner itself is something I've been slowly putting together. What I keep landing on is using two or three of my favourite photos from each week and building a few spreads around them. Otherwise, I feel like the weeks just sort of evaporate. Tuesday becomes Thursday becomes oh wait it's Sunday again. The photos give me something to actually hold onto.⁠ ⁠ Tell me you're doing memory planning, too, please! Photos? No photos? Are you behind like I am? What does yours look like?

This is my May gratitude spread using the Ink & Bloom journaling sticker kit, and I think the high contrast is what I love most about it.⁠ ⁠ The black against the purple, aqua, and pink just makes everything pop in a way that feels a little bold and a little outdoorsy, which is exactly what I wanted for this one. I designed it as an ode to the zentangles I have been learning and playing with, so it has that relaxed, detailed, layered look without feeling heavy.⁠ ⁠ I also keep hoping that if I make enough pages full of bright florals, spring will get the message and finally bring us some green grass and leaves on the trees. We are still very much waiting over here.⁠ ⁠ Are you more drawn to high contrast spreads or softer ones?

Our Cluster Butterfly stickers are one of those pretty things that make me want to instantly start playing with stickers. ⁠ ⁠ They’re foiled in rainbow foil, creating such a gorgeous effect, but I also love that you can use them two ways: as individual butterflies or as the full cluster. So, depending on your creative project, you can order them either way.⁠ ⁠ And then there are our notebooks.
